It sure is. Most of your 1 liters are just 999cc or even a few less.

like the 600cc class most are only 599cc's

The only argument I can think of is that the "liter bikes" are inline-4 where as the RC51 is a V-2

I don't think it fits with liter inline 4's, but it technically is a liter. For a twin, I think you have to be around 1200cc to be in the same class.

It is a liter bike, but is puts down the same HP as a GSXR750(about 135) and weighs about 80lbs more dry. Nothing beats the RC on sound though.

The1098 puts down the same HP(160) as liter inline 4's but has more torque and weighs about the same (381 dry).

Yeah it's still considered a liter bike....but it probably won't keep up with the inlines on top end.

Aren't the Aprillia's and Ducati's twins, as is the TL1000R? They're considered litre bikes so why wouldn't the RC51?

Judging from the last selection on the poll, I figured you had made it. Then again, the first is kind of teling us a bit of information we didn't need to know about drewpy. Don't you think that should've been kept private instead of putting out his E.D. on TWF?

they are....this is a dumb thread.
Most liter bikes like the GSXR1000, R1, ZX10R, CBR1000 are only 998cc anyway...same with the Vtwins...SV1000, TL1000, Duc 998 and the RC51... Therefore they are LITER BIKES!

Ahh... I figured a thread like this would be posted by a but then again... Just kidding Drewpy!

Then again, I figure you could argue this thread because I know some people that ride sportbikes and even cruisers that will not consider twins to be in the same category as inlines. They say its a totally different ballpark, kinda like the whole "Cruisers aren't bikes / Sportbikes aren't bikes" arguement many pose.
