RC51 Engine Mods?

Alright, I've been out of it for a LONG while....last I've heard there are no major mods for the 51's engine. It's a great bike, love it to death, but it can't compete with the inline liter bikes on power. Why do you think Duc went to 1098cc.? Forget the flapper mod, exhaust, powercommander, etc. Has anyone done internal work, head work, etc? I want 150+ rwhp. I know it's possible,, because Nicky Haydens (yea, I'm going back a few years youngsters) AMA superbike made like 180 to 200 if I recall correctly. Anyway, no replacement for displacement is what I'm getting at I guess. Anyone have ideas???

I'm crazy, not stupid. Even I know the RC is out of production. Screw inline fours.....v-twins are just more interesting. That's why I'm asking. Any real responses?

if you're not planing on racing, then why bother with worrying about inline 4's?

i'm not a fan of v-twins, but if you really want to squeze more power, then the usual blueprint/balance/overbore/higher compression/timing advance/heavier valve spring/lighter material rods/etc will do (superbike spec).

don't forget your suspension...

modifying for street performance makes no sense, just get a larger displacement bike (it's cheaper).

Actually, I do plan on doing some racing. I'm near Pocono PA and Loudon NH. My 51 is basically turning into my play thing and for what I want it's easier to put a few grand (or more) into this bike than buy and prep a liter class bike. Plus this way it would be more original. As for the rumored new Rc52 or whatever it may be called, I'm not saying it's not true, or that it is. I do know AMA is allowing 1200cc for the new Ducati 1098 to be competetive against the Jap bikes. Now I just need to find someone that knows what the hell they're doing with a 51 engine! Thanks for the info guys.

I've actually seen a You Tube video of a turbo 51 but how the hell do I find out who did it or how to contact him? That would actually be something I'd really want to do
