Honda Rider's Club (HRCA)

Anyone that has a Honda and doesn't have their membership to HRCA is missing out IMO. It's in the ballpark of 40 bucks per year - and you get a quarterly magazine but more importantly the roadside assistance nationwide.

I had not received my new card and just got off the phone with HRCA, and as always they were courteous very helpful. - Now if the Honda dealership in Tallahassee was only so friendly....

We were talking about this the other day...

If you have manufacture roadside assistance they will only tow to the closest dealership. How does this work with HRCA?

I've had HRCA for a number of years...they will help just like triple A...they will fix roadside or tow to shop...it is under 40 bucks and worth it if you ever have to use it...

Well my AAA is about $110 a year for me and the wife. 6 tows (reg or flat bed) a year per card. Each tow up to 100 miles. And I believe those 6 tows don't include gas or lock outs. They will also tow MC's, boats, RV's or anything else that I'm in/on/or using. They don't even care if I own it or not or if I'm driving it.. all I have to be is a passenger...

I am an HRCA member.. but I don't think I paid the extra for the roadside assistance. Maybe I better next time renewal comes around.

Pickle, roadside assistance is part of the HRCA membership, it doesn't cost anything extra (or at least that was my understanding... I could be wrong too). I've got the membership too... when I bought my bike they gave me a one year free membership. I'll definitely renew it though just to have the roadside assistance incase anything ever happens.

You might want to double check that. I got the HRCA membership because I was told by AAA that they didn't tow motorcycles. I will get the AAA again for my car, but I wouldn't count on them to tow a motorcycle. If they do, then thats awseome, even better.

You have to be very careful having your bike towed using any service. Most Tow truck drivers don't have a clue how to properly transport a bike with out causing damage or more damage.

As I have said before... you must have the standard AAA for like 2 years and then upgrade to GOLD PLUS RV membership. Then they will tow about anything! I have had my bike and other WOS riders bike's towed many times on flat bed trucks.

Best thing to do is learn yourself how to put your bike on one of those little dolly's they usually have. That way you can show cletus how to throw it on there when ya pop a tire in backwoods arkansas

Those dollies that strap in the front wheel ROCK! I had my 9R hauled that way once and it was like bing bang...done... I even rode the bike as he pulled it up onto the flat bed...

But yes, most of the time you really need to help the driver...cause they have problems hauling sportbikes... they don't know how to work around the fairings...

I keep a set of double eye straps under my seat just for this. they are small folded up... only like 1"x1"x3" folded up and rubber banded... they are great...

I think you are right thirdgen. I think I am confusing the HRCA coverage with the AMA membership, which you can pay extra to get in their Mo-Tow program.
