Leaking front shock please help!

I have a 2003 cbr600rr. today i knowtice there is some type of hydrolic fluid collecting on the rim. the highest spot on the i can find fluid on is the right side shock. it appears as if it is leaking. i dont know if it is the seal, the shock its self or what. any info of what it would cost to fix this problem or anyone else has had this problem. thanks, jim

Are the forks inverted or standard? i dont remember, but its more than likely the seal, especially if its a standard fork. Land some hard wheelies lately?

Nah, no wheelies here. I'm a newbie rider, so i'm still learning. taking it one responsible step at a time, i'll get there one day though . I found some seals for $20ish, any idea on install cost? can you just replace the seal, or the entire shock? could the entire shock be f-ed up? or would you think its just the seal?

You have a blown fork seal.

If you don't have any decent mechanical knowledge of working on MCs... and if you don't know anybody to help. Take it to your dealer. Its not something you want to mess up.

No you can not continue to ride it. You must get it fixed. You can ride it to the dealer and that's it. With out your fork oil the forks don't exactly work.

Better ask the person you bought it from...Someone has bounced the front end...That is too new a bike for the seals to be breached
