Accident (pictures too)

Some guy backed in to my bike on last thursday on June 22. He managed to scratch every possible fairing and cowl on it. My bike has a custom paint job and the body shops all say that to get rid of the scratches they have to repaint everything. So i asked can i just paint it black if you guys have to repaint everything, and they said it would be the same cost as orange. The guy that backed up in to it however refuses to pay for repainting the bike. But that is what needs to be done right? Also from him backing up in to it, what should I be aware of that may be mechanically wrong with it. Here is a picture of my bike before the accident.

Why isn't that dudes insurance paying for it? I wouldn't worry about internal damage or anything like that.

Did you call the cops to get an accident report? NEVER NEVER TAKE ANYONE'S WORD FOR ANYTHING EVER! Always call the cops get them involved. You force the guy to resolve it through insurance that way.

Don't worry about anything internal. If its scratched or cracked...replace it. Mostly it will be cosmetic.. plus maybe some levers and pegs, or maybe even a shift linkage off your peg. Check your engine cases as well.

Yup. Then rent a uhaul (the 24 footer) and knock his vehicle over with that and tell him you're not gonna pay for it. A fake ID would be best for this stunt.

I wouldn't worry about internal damage unless it was run over literally. I hope you got his insurance info at least. If so, go straight to them and forget the Joker that hit the bike. If you didn't get info.

Sounds like maybe he doesn't have the info. Which would be no good.

This stuff usually doesn't if no cops were involved and no insurance info exchanged.

I agree if there was no info exchanged might as well take out a loan or dip into your savings to fixer back up.
