Monsoon Season

The monsoon season started last week. The earliest start was around June 17and the latest recorded start was July 25. For those not familiar with the southwest monsoon, low pressure brings up tropical moisture from the Pacific and Gulf of Mexico to Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. It's not as intense as other monsoons in the world, but we got more rain this week, than we did for three months.

Maybe it was fate, but because of the rain, I took my Jeep up the mountain road I usually ride on. On two blind corners, vehicles had dumped transmission fluid, probably from busted cooling hoses. I noticed a thin trail of fluid for a 1/4 mile before coming to one big puddle. Coming around either of those corners on a bike would have been dump city. Still itching to ride though.
