it's ALIVE !!!!

After some extremely helpful tips from the members of the triple forum, I had my '73 H1 running for about 5 minutes tonight.

I jumped off with the camera ready, but it stalled as I took this pic.

Now it's time to put on my rebuilt master cylinder and caliper. For some odd reason the clutch is stuck after sitting for only 21 years My tach doesn't move either. The bearing in the neck were "clunky" and my tires are dry rotted.

But it ran. I'm happy

You may have won that battle, but the war is hardly over. Good luck.

I know what it's like to hear an old bike fire up after many years. I felt the same way hearing my 1976 CB750 run after sitting for about 10 years. Awesome feeling!!!!

You think it's good hearing it run, wait til you ride that bad boy!

It's labor of love. I had a lot of very good times with this bike. I'm bring it back.

As far as spare parts, I have three part motors and a spare frame for any other parts. I also have three 5 gallon buckets of misc parts. They still make most parts for the later triples.

but I'm switching to synthetic "smoke" oil. The chambers weren't as loud as I thought they'd be.

That is cool man! I would send out one of those extra frames for powdercoating...that one looks a bit ruff. Keep us advised on its progress.

Just got done sanding and painting the chambers.

The flat black high temp paint looks kind of "boring" but it can always serve as a base for a higher gloss

That is a nice bike. Looks as if the chrome is still shiny or at least replaced/ redone.
