I don't want this thread to turn into a sob story or pity palor... but I got laid off from work today. Almost a full three months before my contract was up. But on the bright side though I do get two months severence pay!! So tomorrow I'm going shopping and riding... ALL DAY!!!

Also... a warning to all 's of 'ing I am going to be on the war path these next couple months. So watch out

I'll give you one. Buy the Powers! I had the M1's on my '04 R6 and i couldn't fully trust them like I did the Powers when I got 'em. They're decent, but not the Powers. If I was sponsered buy Metzeler and i could only ride their M1's, I'd have the Powers on my street bike.

What years your bike? R1 or R6?

2003 R1

See that's odd because I've been riding the M-1's since they came out and I absolutely love them. I've heard great things about the power's, but I'm just so used to them I know exactly how to get them to do what I want them to do. And to me that's the most important part

Good for you then. I had 1/2 inch chicken strips on my M1's and I have none on my Powers. the profiles are different and the Powers reduce the need for counter steering because they want to be leaned and the profile helps that. Not sure if you like twisties but the Powers are a much better tire fo twisties.

Hey man, sorry to hear. At least you got a severence package, they don't always do that for contract help.

Have fun 'ing up, don't hurt yourself. Let us know what helmet you go with, I'm gonna be needing a new one before too much longer.

Same year as my R1

Go with the Powers! Metzler's suck @ss!

That sucks about your layoff tho. My company laid off my other technician a few months ago.... so now I'm the only technician...and I'm busy off my @ss.

Last time I got laid off I spent a crap load of money...I didn't think it would take me long to find another job....HA I was wrong... 6 months later and moving a few states away I found another job....and collecting unemplyment isn't jack $h!t! So don't spend too much.

Congrats on the new job! That was quick.

I am still against Metzlers and always will be since they tried to throw me off the bike a few times.

Yeah the M3's look pretty badass. Real soft too. Similar tread pattern as the Powers.
