for you E-bayers...

Hey I have a bid in on an item on E-bay...I put my bid in with 4 days to go...yeah, yeah...I wasn't paying attention to that... So, 3 days have gone by...there have been no more bids...now I get an email, 3 hours before the end, saying I've been outbid...

So, I log onto ebay and I go to the item, and I have been outbid by $1.00 by someone with 0 purchases or sales...

My question...do you think that perhaps the sellar is trying to jack me because there are no bids...OR could it be, that this is someone's first bid...we all started at 0...but it just makes me

So what do y'all think???

Happens all the time. Thats why I wait till the last seconds to put any bids in. I have multiple windowns open with higher bids in each one all the way up to my max. Then, if the first one is outbid, then I click the next and so on. I usually win them that way.

Finally back on 2 wheels

It is really not a big deal...but it just seems strange that for 3 days, I have the only bid in on an item...and just before it closes, someone with a 0 bids...

Oh well, I put in another bid and I won't go higher...so if the seller is trying to boost the sale...he'll have to eat it, and pay the fees...

to EBAY. If you were selling something wouldn't you try to outbid your only bidder to get him to pay more. That is the benefit of an auction people pay more than they should just because they don't want to lose. Use the advice of everyone else and bid your max at the very end. That is why that feature of watch this item is there.

Do a search for "auction sniper"
There are programs that you can use in which you put in your maximum bid, and it automatically bids for you seconds before the auction closes!
It sucks, but I've been bitten by it before, and "if you can't beat 'em!"

And it doesn't really matter who or what. Just put in your max amount you'll pay and forget about it.

Speaking of e-bay, I just bought my cold weather gloves for less than 25% retail

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Merchants don't cary XS gloves. So I have to watch e-bay. Take New Enough. They bought a bunch of stuff from JR, but what they don't carry standard (XS gloves) they unload on e-bay. This is the third pair of XS gloves they've sold on e-bay this week. But smalls are just a little to big and get annoying on longer rides.

thats why I hate bidding on ebay, i am a big fan of the "buy it now" feature, sometimes you can even contact the seller and ask if they will just sell it to you...

Buy it now's the way to go. Well, for high demand items anyway.

2 hours before the close...Mr 0 put in a higher bid...and won... the item was re-listed the next day...by the original seller...and I got a 2nd chance e-mail...I told him I would pay what my original bid was...before Mr 0 appeared...My item should be here today or tomorrow...
