Cops really chop my hide!!

There is a travesty going on around here! Total shenanigans! Last night everyone parked on the same street I live on lost their drivers side mirror. Some A-hole went along down the street breaking off mirrors on cars. Also while I'm ranting about how worthless cops are, last summer I went into a slumberland for like ten minutes just long enough for some prick to break my window and steal girlfriends purse out of my truck. In broad daylight! Heres why cops piss me off!!

While crimes are being comitted in our fair city, these doughnut munchers spend their time sitting in dithches or otherwise hiding out for some poor unsuspecting, law abiding, taxpaying working stiff who just wants to get home to see his family happens to drift a few miles an hour over the the limit and bam, cops are on you like a bum on a bologna sandwich! Insurance goes up, city gets more revenue to hire more cops to fill more non pro-active roles in crime prevention. Perhaps if these keepers of the peace would acually patrol our neighborhoods and places of business we wouldnt be paying such high insurance rates to cover all the theft & vandalism cops don't prevent. Its such a racket. seems like they are all in cahoots!

Problem is I don't know what a civilian can do about it. I thoght about e-mailing police chief or something but if I did that Im sure they would harass me. be like we'll show this guy! I'd have cops on my arse from here to sunday.

well, here is my view from someone who wants to be a cop and has a lot of friends who are cops. Yes, some police officers (mostly state police) are the ones who will pull you over and harass you and stuff for speeding. But because some A-hole rode down your street and knocked off everyones mirror doesnt mean its the cops fault. Seriously, like do you expect the cops to be your professional body guards and security guards? It is not there fault, and the fact that it has happend to you before and you still have yet to do somthing about it (alarm, park your car somewhere else, report it) it happend again.

Im sry for what happend, but just dont blame the cops, and another thing you should realize is that a lot of these cops are former soldiers, marines, sailors, or airmen who served their country and who a lot of people thanked for their service, yet when they become police officers everyone seems to forget.

Sry, just kinda ruffled my feathers a lil bit

No cops arent my personal bodyguards nor do I expect them to be. However we also have laws that prevent us from vigilante justice. No, cops cannot be there to stop every crime, but when a civilian kicks the crap out of someone violating their property, they can have a lawsuit on their hands. Either way wasting time and taxpayer dollars to trap people commiting victimless crimes is wrong! Besides wether you are a vet or not doesnt give you the right to operate above the law. I'm talkin about when you see cops speeding all the time no lights no siren. Or you hear them tearin out of intersections wide open pedal to the metal for no reason other than to get their kicks off taxpayers paying for all that gas they waste when you know damn well if anyone else drove like that they'd get a ticket for excessive acceleration. Also I wanted to be a cop once too. It's an exciting job that could be very rewarding. I'm just sayin they need to be more proactive or we the people need to be able to take things into our own hands.

i respect your view, not every cop is a great cop...just like how every businessman isnt a great businessman (maybe bad example) but just its not fair to stereotype them as doughnut eating azsholes ya no?

yo, i am not a fan of authority, but here's some info...
speed traps are a way to find people with warrants or criminals with a history.

if you speed, expect to get a ticket. if you're a fugitive and drive, you better obey traffic laws. it's not that hard to drive below the speed limit. just stay on the slow lane.

Personally...I think you ought to STFU. Until you understand what they have to do...you are clueless. You won't find much support for FTP around here...With that attitude...maybe you should find another forum...

"Drift a few miles over the speedlimit"

Around here, you don't get pulled over unless you're going 10 or MORE mph over the speed limit. That's not drifting, that's driving.

Hey jackass!! I do know what Im talkin about. My dad has a friend that is a state trooper, you talk about a guy who drinks and drives! Also my GF is a firefighter and they all hang out with cops and drink and drive. Bit of irony huh! Never implied that ALL law enforcement was worthless, kinda like all mideasterners are not terrorists. If ShanMan can look into the mirror and like what he sees a little rant about some bad cops isnt gonna bother him either. And by the way, I'm really glad you are such an authority on peoples attitudes so I have someone I can reference when things get iffy. You start in on the name calling and I have an attitude problem? People like you who have brass balls behind thier monitor are the real problem. Never made anything personal, never called anyone names!

Someone needs a vacation. There is one difference between our arguments BM and this one. We never start naming calling. That usually results in someone getting a nice little vacation from TWF.
