where can i get a decent go kart?

im lookin to get a fast go kart but all i see online is the wholesale websites....does anyone know where i can get a decent go kart for a decent price? or where i can get one that is able to be "modded" to go faster?

Basically I was asking if you are looking for something with suspension or not... On the street you don't really need it... in a go kart at least... in the dirt you do need it... I had a street go kart when I was a kid... rode it off road and broke the engine mount about a dozen times... My dad got sick of welding it back in place that finally I came home one day and it was gone...

As far as plans go, I don't know of any available... all the homemade karts I have seen were custom jobs... If going off road, suspension is a must and that will complicate the design and fabrication by leaps and bounds... Unless you and your old man have a lot of mechanical ability and tools... I'd just buy one...

You might already know this but if you do decide to bulid one Yamaha makes some kart engines. Heres a link:Yamaha Kart Engines
Id try to build one. It would probably be a good side project.

I hear there is a guy in Louisville that makes Go Karts out of ZX12 engines...they that out...and if you want I can get you the contact information.

Probably overkill... the 250cc karts are capable of speeds in excess of 120MPH...
