First the Tigers, and now this...

I know I shouldn't be feeling joy, but....it is the Yankees we're talking about.

Too bad. But did anyone hear the sound from Gov. Pataki? He said basically how the F can an inexperienced pilot be allowed to fly in and out of buildings in a city like that in the post-9/11 world with no contact to flight control. I agree with that.

It just should be allowed.

The oddest thing I found with this crash. His plan had a safety parachute that can lower the plane. I'm guessing he was to low to deploy the chute.

Forget the chute, he didn't even have a distress call. It was real overcast yesterday, so he probably didn't even see the building.
Probably flyin' around thinking about the poor performance he had in the last game and the runs he gave up that added to their elimination from the play-offs, and how George is probably going to make some changes...and then BOOM!...hit's a 50 story building.

No, He was flying VFR(visual flight rules) He was able so see just fine. He just turned right into the building. As you fly VFR up the East River, there is a point where you have to turn around bacause VFR no longer applies. It is a tight turn but he should have been able to make it. He swung wide on the turn and slammed into the building. Tragic Mistake.

Well...maybe he was making his turn and thinking about how he and the Yankees blew it big time and then hit the building...

I can't help myself. It is tragic, but...F#CK the Yankees!!

I said and recognized it was tragic

F#ck it, though. I wish it was Jeter or A-fag in that plane instead, but a Yankee is a Yankee.

I don't think it was distraction, he was a young pilot with less than 100 hrs of flight experience.

I've often heard flying compared to riding in the sense that when you get in the pilot's seat (just like when you put on your helmet and hop on) that everything else besides the moment just disappears. I know if I was a Yankee and was headed down the queens expwy on my bike I sure wouldn't be thinking about losing a game!

One of my co-workers is a Yanks fan. He saw Lidle's first and last game as a Yank.

Hey it turns out I played baseball against this guy in High School. He went to school at South Hills High School and played with Jason Giambi. South Hills HS was just about 8 miles from my HS.
