Rep Ratio

Well I figured since we have a PPD thread maybe some certain rep whores would be interested in comparing rep to post ratios.

In case anyone doesn't know how to do this here is the formula (just use your computer's calculator unless you're a math whiz):

rep pts/post count

So in my case I have 1285 posts and 547 rep pts giving:

547/1285 = 0.426 or 42.6%

Since both numbers are fairly dynamic among the rep whore crowd this ratio should change quite a bit over time and it will be interesting to see how it plays out...

(which, I might add, puts me WELL ahead of Marko in terms of reps per post... )

Actually, your math is faulty.... we need to be dividing our REP count by our post count, and not vice versa (the way you're doing it, you could have eleventy billion posts, and barely any reps, and get a huge high number).

So in actuality, the REAL ratio is 0.364.

So my 2.32 is better that your 2.74. Sorry its the math major in me.
But posts per rep point just makes you a post whore, and not a REP whore, which I thought was what we are measuring?? It's better to have LOTS of rep points with fewer posts than it is a zillion not-rep-worthy posts.

(and your ratio might still be higher than mine -- I'm not disputing that -- I'm just saying you're measuring the wrong thing... )

Yeah it's right for POSTS PER POINT... but not POINTS PER POST (which is far more important). All you did was prove you're a

Actually you'd be around 33%, but I'm too lazy to do the actual math...

I did exactly as the instructions said. 11,3xx posts divided by 1,xxx rep pts. I check Knights to make sure I did it right and I got his numbers.

Yeah, keep reading. Do it the other way -- Divide your Rep Points by the number of posts. THAT's the true ratio.

I like how Nee and Sickie make it a percentage, though. Makes it seem more signifigant.

And....ummm....repsssss.....

Not to worry.... The first time I did it (a couple weeks ago) I did it the same way.... wasn't till I started toying with numbers that I realized it was faulty logic.

And GR... MATH might have been your major, but LOGIC (which is what made this work) is my strong point.
