man, i must be emotional tonight...that made me cry too!!! My hubby served and so have all the males in my family, to them and to all of you on the Forum, THANK YOU, Happy Vets Day, abd GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

It was weird, i had drill this weekend, and some little girl came up to me and thanked me when i was in dunkin donuts on saturday...it was pretty cool

i always try to thank a soldier in uniform when i see them. they probably think i am a flake or something.

I doubt it... I'm sure it catches them by surprise, as I'm sure they don't hear it often, but I'm sure it makes them feel good.

No one ever thanked me when I was in. It would have made me feel more appreciated, although I was in the first gulf war and it was not nearly as big of a deal as the current gulf war.

It was plenty as big of a deal. The media just didn't sensationalize the public response as much.
