My old man bought another expensive new toy!

My old man bought another new expensive toy last weekend. I have an uncle in Michigan that decided to sell his 50th anniversary corvette w/ 5,000 miles on it. He never really drove it since it's a limited edition collectors item. The car basically sat in his garage covered up and he only buys temporary tags for his vehicles for the season.

My uncle had a 66 Corvette stingray many years ago that was never drove either....only went to car showes on a trailor but he sold that one about 10 years ago.
All in all my dad got a great deal on the vette. It's still worth 40k but he got it for 33k. I can't wait to see this thing this week. I won't get to drive it since he's not getting tags until 07.

Very cool. I too own a 50th anniversary. Interesting that your dads new toy looks stock. However, the decal under the fender badge is not. You might want to remove it so the paint underneath does not discolor.

I know my dad will never do any performance mods to the Vette besides an air filter so pretty much it will always stay stock.
I also know my dad will never drive this car except on an occational sunday or if my older bro gets him to join his Bluegrass Corvette Club where he can take it on the cruises and car shows.

Pretty much the Vette will sit in the garage with the car cover over top of her.
My dad has too many toys and can't possibably drive them all too often.

Nice car, my dad has the exact same car, also bought it as a collector's item more than a toy. His bro has the 25th anny. I use to drive it as a chore when I was still in school because he lives overseas and can't do it himself. My bro inherited that god sent chore now that I don't live as close. Who put that silly 50th anniversary sticker below the stock 50th emblem?

I don't know who but the 50th anniversary sticker under the stock emblem. It definatly looks professionally done....maybe the dealer? I don't know. I'll mention it to my dad when I see it wednesday, but I'm sure he will leave it on there.
My older bro has an all black 93 Corvette, 6 spd...it's nothing special...but it's still a vette.

Yes, I'm still a member here. I just don't have as much time to anymore since the g/f moved in.

no not at all, but I just found myself always being busy with her. I don't even ride too much anymore. She made me go ride on sunday tho.

Before I wrecked the R1 we were always out riding, but until I replace the sub frame she can't ride with me.

I agree. It's a beautiful car. Too bad it will go to waste sitting under a car cover. It's meant to be driven, not parked. JMHO
