College Football Bowl Thread

I posted this in the Arky vs Gaytors thread. I guess I will start a whole thread of on the bowls. Here are a few predictions, I will start doing the other non BCS bowls later.

Rose: USuCk vs Meeeeechigan - Meeeeechigan massacre

Sugar: LSU vs Notre Lame - The drunken catholics at a public school teach the drunken catholics at a private school a lesson

Orange: Wake Forest vs Louisville - Possibly the worst BCS bowl ever, I don't want to predict or watch this game

Fiesta: Boise State vs Oklahoma - This could possibly be a close game because Oklahoma is tied with another team for the most fumbles in D1. Boise State deserves to be in a BCS bowl as much as a team of me's.

BCS MNC: tOSU vs Flawaduh - Depends on which Chris Leak shows up, if the bad one shows up. It's going to be a massacre. If the good one shows up, it has a possibility of being close, but I still see tOSU winning.

It won't happen unless the schools get together and demand it. Everyone makes too much money from the bowls.

F the Gators, Michigan got screwed. UM Vs OSU would have made for a much better game.

Gee, I wonder why you think so, maybe it is because you are in Meeeeeechigan. No one (aka pollsters) likes rematches and in the current system, rematches aren't fair to other conferences. I would have no problem with a rematch if it happened through a playoff system, but that is not the case with the greedy bowl system. You want a rematch, then the Little 10 should start a Little 10 championship game instead of being sissies and trying to make sure their top two teams don't knock each other out of bigger bowls. The way it is, Meeeeechigan had their shot and lost. A team with the same record as them that did win their league championship deserves the shot.

That was my biggest problem with the MNC in 2003. Oklahoma lost their league championship, they shouldn't of been in the title game. I would rather see LSU and USC in the Rose Bowl than Meeeeeechigan. That is the game I want to see played the most.

For the record, I am not FROM Michigan, I just moved here almost 3 years ago. So Im not really a UM fan. I just think they have a better team than UF.
They only lost to OSU by 3 points in Columbus. I bet at a neutral sight(BCS game) MI would possibly beat them. UF does not impress me at all. I thin the SEC was weak this year. Usually the SEC is one of the top conferences along with the ACC and both sucked donkey nuts this year.

The best team does not always win. Playing the games decides who wins. Meeeeechigan had their shot and lost. They did not win their conference title and shouldn't get a rematch with the system as it is now even if they are the better of the two 1 loss teams.

So we get a boring BCS Championship game instead? OSU runs the score up 42-7?? Yeah that will be a good game.

Again, the best team does not always win. Flawaduh could pull a tOSU and beat the heavily favored team. Do you remember the year tOSU was suppose to get stomped by Miami? Do you remember how there was no way UCLA was going to beat USC last weekend? I would never say anything is given in college football.

I thought the last tOSU and Meeeeechigan was incredibly boring. It was only close because tOSU slacked off at the end.

UCLA beat USC because USC was over rated and weak. (To all you ND fans, yes ND is weak and over rated as well!)

I agree nothing is ever a given in college footbal, but for the national championship game, you should have the best 2 teams playing and again, as with most years since the BCS was created, the best 2 teams are not playing.

ND is weak, I can't wait to see them get hammered by Laron Landry.

BCS sucks, it's a system that's one sole purpose is to make lots of money and not define a true champion because there is no officially recognized NCAA football champion. Playoffs are needed. It's funny how Meyer was still for a playoff system after getting the news Florida made it in, but tOSU was still against a playoff.

Meyer is for a playoff...for the same reasons I am...The teams are chosen and the games decided, on the field, by the players instead of by a computer or biased sportswriters...WTF are style points anyway? Let my team win 13 games by 15 points next year and they'll be national champs...

I wouldnt say that the BCS always screws up. Last year was the perfect championship game and the true national champion won. Despite all the talk, if OSU wins the true national champion will be the national champion again. However I do agree that it sucks and I wish there was a playoff. But lets face it the schools dont want it however much they complain about it they make money when their team goes to the Fed Ex bowl or whatever corporation is sponsoring the game. It's an imperfect system and its not fair but life isnt fair.
