seriously, wtf m8?

I dont smoke. I used to smoke a lot of herb (gave it up when i realized how stupid I act when I'm high) but never lit a cigarette except maybe once a year to remind me why I hated it.

BUT, why cant people that enjoy a cigarette smoke? bars are historically a place to smoke and drink. Now that all of the smokers are going to have idle hands I'm kinda scared to be around them.

I know a lot of riders smoke, so how has the no smoking bans across the country affected you guys?

Maybe they should let the owners of the bars choose what to allow. if non smokers hate smoking in bars so much they can open their own non smoking bars.

I'm with ya.. I hate cigerette smoking. Take it outside... disgusting. to all you smokers...

However, in many other states there are loop holes. The bar holds a VIP party. You walk up to the door and the bouncer says.. "hold up.. this is a VIP party." "ok" you say... bouncer adds "you can come in with a free pass but you must understand that there may be smoking cause its a VIP party." You go in and people can smoke freely...

it has allways at the bar's discretion whether or not smoking was allowed.

Ya the health department will nip that in the bud pretty soon... The news program interviewed some guy that was to some importance and he said that as time progressed there would be certain changes to the law to provide "better health"...

Cant even smoke outside bars (or any public place for that matter) by the doorway, you actually have to be a reasonable distance from the entrance.

Utah was smoke free, but the bars had a free pass. They just had to be a "private club for members only" and they could allow smoking. They had temporary memberships that would last 1-3 days, depending on what you wanted to pay. An annual membership was $20, the weekend membership was $5. That's an easy choice if you have a bar you like to go to. Granted they had to be a private club in order to serve alcohol because it's Utah law as well. However, there were some restaurants that became private clubs for a $1 annual membership so they could allow smoking. This was back in 2001, not sure if anything has changed since I moved.

I'm all for the ban. Peolpe keep mentioning the smokers rights to smoke- what about non-smokers right to BREATH. Oxygen is a requirement for sustaining life- its not optional- smoking is- so why is this even a discussion? If I have a "habit" and it effects the person next to me- then that habit should only be practiced in private settings. IE masterbation- you want me jerking my meat while your trying to eat? "Hey ass hole! I'm in the jerking section- mind your own business"...

smoking might just be the most (if not only) invasive bad habit there is. smoke all you want, just don't make me breathe it.

Try taking a 2 stroke bike into a bar and let it run for a while. Then maybe they would understand what its like for people that dont smoke... Im sure there would be some drunk that would start taking a hit off the pipe.....

Doesn't bother me either way. I always hate that god awful smoke smell you come out with though. Maybe the smoking ladies won't show up then and you don't have to worry about making out with an ashtray.

I think this is one step short of Prohibition... I live in MA and we have been "smoke free" for a year or two now... It sucks in the winter having to go out and freeze your ass off.... I have a couple of friends that own bars and they said that they have lost a lot of business over the year and a half since you can't smoke in the bar anymore... I think that it should be up to the business owner on wether or not they want to allow smoking. What's next is the government going to start to tell resteraunts that they can't serve red meat because there are too many fatasses in america.. I hate the smell of most womens perfume.. the smell offends me greatly in closed spaces.. so I cant smoke at a bar where people go to drink and smoke and relax but I have to be stuck working next to a woman who reaks of lavender and musk and have to breath that in all day...

Not to mention a self serve buffet style resturant... you want me reachin in with these hands after I just finished rubbin one out? Well I don't want you reaching in with your nicotene covered hands either. (is it arrogant to reply to my own post???) LOL

As far as the bar scene- people smoking in a bar is a little more tolerable then in a resturant. But the bars should be required to have exhaust fans.

OH!.... don't get me wrong.. if you are talking about resteraunts I think that the smoking area should be totally closed off.. near me the local applebees has a totally seperate room that has full walls and glass windows but not open at all. the bar area is in there and there are about 12 tables total in there... the non smoking sections has like 40-45 tables in it.... I think this is fine... i just don't like when I go out to the Bar... and I mean bar... band playin.. shots being poured... and not being able to smoke... it's lousy..
