So...you don't think the Daisy Red Ryder or the wood burning sets are appropriate? How about the Lawn darts or the sling shots?

"9. Sky Blaster
This little rocket launches into the air, achieving spinning flights if you bend the fins, and contains a warning not to aim at "the eyes or face of a person as an injury could result". It also instructs that users must "alert all within range when launching Sky Blaster".

Why is it Dangerous?
It's an all-too-likely scenario that your obedient little child, while approaching complete strangers to alert "all within range" that he or she's launching the Sky Blaster, that they will encounter all sorts of unsavory characters, like gypsies just waiting to sell children on the black market, paranoid ex-KGB operatives with itchy trigger fingers, and angry men with Tourette's who reflexively punch children who approach them in the face. "

sound like anyone we know?

a few christmas's ago, i bought my kids skateboards...
at least my wife is a nurse.

gear did you say? after i bought them gear, they quit skateboarding. it takes about 30 minutes to get them all geared up properly. by that time, all their friends are gone.

same with rollerblades and bikes, takes too long for me to gear them up. at their age, they don't care if their gear is on too loose or incorrectly fitting.

I bought them a dirtbike at one point. they were glad to have gear on. my youngest daughter still managed to get a black eye though.

I was thinking about those mini electric motorcycles for my kids. think those are dangerous?

But maybe a worry wart... but I won't judge cause I don't have kids yet. My little bro skate boards and doesn't wear any gear. I always figure kids are suppose to get cruises, cuts, and such... no biggie.. its all about being a kid.

when I visited my wife at work, there was a little girl with head injuries, she fell face first onto a parking block that knocked both her eyes out of their sockets.
i'm also a skateboarder, kids with broken arms and ankles are a common site.
kids need all the protection they can get. just for that reason you mentioned. hopefully, all will survive to adulthood.

Good pt BM... but you also don't want them to be socially stunned for being the nerd with all the gear. Kids telling them... "what mommy didn't have a bubble to put around you too!"
