Computer Guys

... lookin for a notebook MAINLY for school. DEFF want dual processor. I was looking at these 3. The Toshiba looks really good, and the acer looks almost the exact same for 50 dollars less and .4lbs heavier. I really can't find a difference. BUT, I've never heard of Acer, anyone know anything about it? I've read nothing bad about them... Only thing I would like if you guys can find it for under 700... is similar specs with 7200RPM as apposed to 5400RPM...

First question you have to ask yourself is, "do I really need all that power?"... If you are planning on surfing the web, word processing, and using other business applications... then no, you don't need the dual core CPU with 1GB of ram... Save yourself a few hundred dollars and get something more reasonable...

Otherwise, do as much reviewing as possible online and pick the one that you think looks the coolest... Seriously... Toshiba and HP both make a quality product and while I have little experience with Acer, I haven't heard anything bad... Then again, opinions are only as good as the quality of the source... Just because a couple people had a really good/bad experience with something, doesn't mean you'll have the same luck... If you notice an overwhelming trend... that's where the truth lies...
