Scary bike buyers

I was down at Procaliber Motorsports this last week picking up some parts for my bike and as I was leaving, passing through the showroom floor this guy comes in and a salesman comes up to him and says " can I help you?" and the guy say's, while pointing in the general direction of the sport bikes, " I want a bike like that!" the salesman said, " what, the R1-R6?" the guy said, " ya that one, I heard the Rs are good, I'll take it!"

I walked out the door and said to myself, " Hi, I am here to kill myself, I will take the R1"

I had the exact opposite of that happen to me. I went into the dealership looking to buy a CBR600RR or a gixxer 600 before I decided to keep the SV and they were trying to get me to buy 06 liter bikes they were trying to clear out. I was like I don't want or need that s***.

When I was in Cali seemed like I'd hear BOTH of those every time I went into a bike shop!

I did hear one though that still makes me cringe... this guy walks in and starts talking to this salesman, they're about 10 feet away so I can hear everything they're say'n... the guy wanted a new busa... the salesman asked why did he not like the one he just bought two weeks earlier... he said he love it that's why he was sticking to the busa!... the sales man looked confused and said... then why do you need another? he said well I was trying to wheelie on I5 and some ass hole slammed on his breaks... and caused me to lay it down... but it's cool insurance will cover it. the sales man made the sale... took about 30mins... then turned to me and as the other guy walked out the door... he said... that guys an idiot... I've sold him 5 bikes in the last year! I asked what he's bought.. he said a new R6, then an R1, then a GSXR1000, another GSXR1000, and finally the Busa's... I told him that he should just refuse to sell him any more... and the sales man looked at me like i was an idiot... Why the hell would I do that? He's gonna pay for MY next bike with his purchases!!

I was like... dude... I hope next time he does something stupid on his busa... he's right next to you on the road and takes your ass out!

needless to say I walked out

They've got a pallet of Squid Soap in the back. They're trying to give it away in a proper manner.

I almost expect to see a new thread entitled, "Just got my first bike: R1"

hey, salesmen are there to make sales, not keep kids whom dont do their research off the roads...

the paramedics and our local police officers burden themselves with that responsability.

true... but have a conscience! I couldn't sell a kid a 1000 and sleep at night if he walked in and said... "yeah the R's are supposed to be good"

and I certanly wouldn't continue selling bikes to a guy that keeps wrecking them doing admittingly stupid **** on the freeway!

oddly, most of the sales reps in my local shops arent quite like this. well, the Suzuki dealer is, but I dont particularly care for 90% of those anyways. the Honda dealer, and the kawi/yamaha guys are cool.

life is but a way of killing time until you die. why care how you live, just have fun while you can.
