One of my friends wants to get a bike, he was thinking of a katana or something. but his parents dont want him to (big surprise), and its cuz they think he'll drop it. anyways he told me he wants to get this thing, and that his mom would be okay with it since it cant fall over:

do you guys think this is safer? it seems to me that it would just be bulky, not as maneuvrable, but doesnt have the crash cage to protect you... i.e. if you get hit by someone you're still gonna fly off.

what do u guys think? or

Bikeless for the moment.

If money were no object, I'd buy one just to screw around with... But with money being an object, I'd rather be on two wheels...

I guess it would be safer from the standpoint that you'd be less likely to wreck, but if you did wreck I think it would be worse. A crash would most likely be a high-side... Plus you have much more machine for your body to get caught up on (or under). One of my mags has a write up on this thing (or something similar) and they say it's pretty stable, but you can get it on two wheels... Tell your friend to wait till he's 18 and tell his parents were to stick it. That's what I'd do... Then again, my parents were mostly stoked with my choice in buying a motorcycle, at least once they got past the fact that it says Ninja on the side...

*personally* I'd never ride one of these, I'd much rather be on 2 but all I'm asking is do u think its safer? cuz I think thats a BS excuse to buy it.. but just wanted to see what u guys thought...

IMO dropping your bike is not the problem its getting hit by a 2 ton vehicle that is the problem. its not too hard to keep your bike upright at an intersection or w/e..

High side a trike = flippin' that biznatch.

Ok, the 'rents paying for college works to deter my previous statement... My question would be, if the 'rents are paying for college, why would they allow him to spend $10k+ on a vehicle? That is ridiculous if you ask me...

yeah I dunno I think he should just get a bike, even if it does have to be kan o tuna. but its hard convincing parents that a motorcycle is a good idea when you're a teenager. doesnt matter how u put it, its dangerous.

I still wouldnt go middle ground. I'd get a nicer car.

It's easy for me to say this because I had to pay for college myself... He should tell his 'rents to screw off, get some student loans, and look for a deal on a clean, but old, 250R or something...

I hereby dub that thing, and I use the term "thing" loosely, a turd of the ugly giant from planet ugly in another dimension.

life is but a way of killing time until you die. why care how you live, just have fun while you can.

Never seen one of these before, reminds me of an ATV version of the T-Rex. I personally wouldn't go spending all that money for something like that, as oppose to paying for two wheels. If the parents are involved it makes things a little more complicated, as always, but they are watching out for him so he's gotta listen. If money is no object I'd talk them into a T-Rex before this thing!!

Yeah no crap... and still the only reason to have a t-rex at all is if you are handicapped by some physical condition
