Family fun for the summer........pics

My daughter's Sweet-16 is coming up soon. I gave her the choice of a BIG sweet 16 party campout at the beach with her & her friends for 3 days & 2 nights or...........a dirt bike. She's my kid for sure So, she & my wife are learning how to ride. WOO HOO!!!

Got her a Honda CRF100 & an old 500 from a friend for me.

My Wife: about 4 hours of instruction & she was up & runnin'.

The 500. Needs a thorough tune-up.

My summer is now booked, lol.

Nice pics! I think the only thing missing is the 'holy cow' shots of them when they got the bikes... I assume they were a surprise?

Next step... MSF course for them?

good for her.
and wifey looks like a pro already.

one thing tho, those bikes are a little TOO close to the Z06 for
my taste.

More than they thought I can't keep them off of it.

My wife & I bought it together, so she already knew. We took it home while my daughter stayed at a friends house. We picked her up & went home. She was messin around with something in the Jeep when we pulled into the drive way & I told her "just get out". ROFL......she walked right passed it thinking it was the bike I was going to pick up for me. When she realized it was for her, I was subjected to a bear-hug, from my little Black Belt, for about 5mins. (OH YEAH!!.......worth all 350 seconds of it.)

I thought about MSF, but I'll teach them first. If I think they can handle it I'll save the money. I know that sometimes people learn better from someone they don't know, so the MSF option will remain on the table.

Good thing is, they both know it's MY garage, so they steer clear of everything. I've got my "play-room" down to a science.

That is exactly what I'm doing with my wife. Even though she is hard to keep from getting frustrated. She gets flustered cause she isn't GREAT at it imediately. But she is learning... we are trying to get in some miles this weekend.

I know what you're going thru Chap. I'm going thru a similar situationw tih my wife right now. Its exciting and scary at the same time.

Nice! Sharing the experience of riding on 2 wheels. Dirtbikes are a blast...and that 500 should be able to tear up some trails. My friend just got a YZ400 and that thing doesnt mess around. Itll climb over full grown trees that have fallen in the trails. Have fun!

Thats awesome- and says alot about her maturity to decide on a lasting gift rather then one that many young girls would have used (the trip) as a way to grow in "popularity"... seems simple to us- I know- but it's admirable for a 16 yr old girl.
