Mother's Day - Part 2

So what did ya'll do (if anything) for your Mom's for Mother's Day? Anyone taking Mom out for brunch, sending her flowers or to the day spa, or anything else like that?

Since my Mom's in TX, I can't very well take her to brunch, but I did send her a gorgeous arrangement of bright pink roses (I should be getting the teary call from her any time now... )

You guys seems to have some really nice ideas. I used to take my mom out on horseback (since I used to own horses) and have a lunch set up for her every year. Then, since I am a dj, I'd take her to a club with me (since she liked clubbing) and I spun a little (just of her favourite musik for about 20 minutes). She died though, so thought I'd just let the memory live on with what I used to do with my mom!

Don't let the memory fade, still spin those favorite tunes that she use to like......

We're having a BBQ for her...something pretty low key. Restaurants get too crazy for brunch / dinner on mother's day. I'm celebrating motherhood myself by taking a nice long ride in the mountains...can't wait.

I'm doing nothing for mother's day. My mom will get a happy mother's day from me, a I love you, and then a goodbuy as I go off to work. I'm not big on stuff like flowers or whatever. My mom knows I love her and care about her, and that SHOULD come out in my daily life. Besides, she specifically told my dad and I not to get her flowers or go out for brunch, because its a waste of money.

I guess I may wake up early and go get donuts and coffee for her, I love donuts, and any excuse to get them is all it takes.

Edit: Yes i voted nothing.

Hoping to call Mom this year Parents last few weeks have been traveling Europe in rental car.
They have one of those cell phones you rent from Verizon, lets you call their local toll free cell number while in Europe. Seems to work great when they are in big city. But seems only 50% of my calls have made connection

My mom got her big gift... that was flying down to visit her in March. That cost me like $500 for airfare. Then my wife got her a little locket for a extra.

The mother-in-law is getting a rose bush.. and we'll probably go see her too. That's what she wanted...
