Weekend trip to Cartek (Pics and Video)

NOTICE: This is copy and pasted directly from my post on the Corvette forum. Just thought I'd share some pics and video of my weekend in New Jersey at the company that does all the tricks to my car, Cartek. Check it out....

Took the car up to New Jersey this weekend for some more Cartek magic. The car was experiencing some bad hesitation down low and a loss of power all over. So I called up Dave about 2 or so weeks ago and made the appointment.

First let me start out by making a few things clear. The two times I have ever had work done to my car by a shop have been at Cartek. The first was over 2 years ago, and until this time it has never needed to see the shop again, which has nothing to do with the work they performed.

Now, both times I have called up Dave and made an appointment with a small list of parts and work that I needed done. Both times, after arriving, I have made the list considerably longer. The first time I went up I was having 4.10's, a Cartek clutch package, and a flywheel done. When I left, I had a 3x cam, double roller chain, comp springs, hardened pushrods, as well as misc. other things on top of the drivetrain parts and a full dyno tune.

This weekend, I went up with good intentions of having them track down a small oil leak I had show up, re-install my off-road x-pipe as well as put my tunnel plate on while they were there, a Z06 intake mani, plugs/wires, change all fluids, and dyno tune. When I got there, the list grew once again.

We put a Vararam in place of the trashed Blackwing I had previously on the car. An ASP underdrive pulley went on in place of the stock one while fixing the oil leak. I was also pushing the stock injectors to their limits, so 38#'ers went in to get me ready for the 4x head package coming in the next few months. Last but not least, and I may be forgetting some things, a Cartek line lock was installed.

Time schedule both times was 1 day, and stayed 1 day even after I grew the list of work. On Friday, these guys completed and dyno tuned my car, did LT's/catback/thermostat/dyno tune on a new Z06, dyno'd a Trans-Am and a H/C C6 as well as a ton of other work around the shop. The way these guys work is phenomenal. They must have delivered 5 or more cars that day.

When all was said and done I made a hair, and I do mean a hair, under 400 at the rear wheels. In some hot ass air in a rather warm shop. I have no doubt in my mind that its over 400 while driving taking full advantage of the Vararam.

Dave, Julio, Rich, Roy, Mike, etc. thanks again for the service. Its a pleasure to have you guys work on my car.

Oh and before I put the pics up. Dave also provided a ride to and from the hotel for me as well hooking me up with some dinner last night. These guys always treat me right and get everything done top notch and on time for me even after extending my list of work.

Anyways, pics.

I have more that I might post up later. Cartek crew, thanks again! I'll be back as soon I replenish my funds for that 4x setup. I'm ready to see some 450+ numbers.

The zo6's are badass with just a few thousand on tires and of course intake exhaust and suspension.

Yeah, but I still need a set of Cartek's 4x heads, a FAST 90/90 setup, and a few other minor things before I go talking too much shat on the Cobra/Viper guys. Some of those Cobra guys are fast. Case in point, our fellow forum member with the 6xx hp Cobra. He's got to be turning low 11's high 10's on DR's. Not many Vipers around me.

Once I get set up with the 4x heads, a few other minors, and a dedicated drag tire setup, I should be seeing high 10's all day after some seat time with it. Time will tell.
