...and having money definitely does NOT guarantee their sanity.
we live in a pretty damn nice neighborhood, gated... on the gulf of mexico. ok, well, technically on canal off the gulf. anyway... let's just say the price of entry keeps the riff-raff out. OR... so you'd think.
i got up this morning to leave for work, and down the street where there's still an empty lot there's all these freakin' cops... game wardens... texas natural resources trucks... blah blah blah. anyway, pretty freaky. odd i thought, but i'm late for work so i keep on going after the obligatory rubber-necking as i pass by (didn't see anything).
sooooooo.... i get a call from my fiance', stephen, a few minutes ago and he brought me up to speed (he's at home today, not working.. bastich!). evidently one of our "neighbors" from down the street TOTALLY flipped out last night!
he did the following, in *approximately* this order:
took a gun and shot up the inside of his house....
managed to get on his 42 ft boat and had that thing opened up to 2k rpms still tied up to his dock.... (pssst... that's a $900k "boat", btw)
...at this point, the noise of those two big azz diesels wound up alerted the neighbors to call the po-po's.
when johnny law showed up, he was in the fly-bridge screaming at his dog to get on the f***ing boat. LOL LOL LOL obviously, the dog was havin' no part of it.
when the police ordered him off the boat, he complied. EXCEPT
... that he broke for his brand new 4x4 Ford F350 4 door "King Ranch Edition" truck. hopped in... tore ass off down the street which is where he ended up at the "vacant lot" i mentioned earlier.
as the police headed him off there, he proceeded INTO the vacant lot, and according to neighbors who were up in the middle of the night watching this spectacle... he started just cutting donut after donut after donut in the lot while the police watched.
... he straightened out... made a bee-line for the bulkhead... and, yeppers. drove that truck straight off into the canal.
BWAAAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAAAA......
At that point, apparantly, he gave himself up and swam to the bulkhead where he was arrested. this brought us to this morning, where all the local constabulary, regulatory agencies, etc... were gathered around scratching their heads (and asses) trying to figure out how to get that big ass truck out of the water.
ok, now the best part. lol sooooooo.... stephen took note of all this and "got the story" when he was looking out the back bay windows into the canal an hour or so ago, and saw a small "work boat" looking thing going by. what was it doing? why.. it was TOWING a floating Ford F350 4x4 4 door pickup of course!
BWAAAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAAAA.... omg i told him, PLEASE... take pictures if it's not gone already! LOL LOL LOL LOL
what they ended up doing was having a diver go down, attach "lift bags" , whatever those are, something that floats i guess... to the truck. once they had it bobbing on the surface, they towed it out of the canals and down to a boat ramp to use a wrecker to get it up outta the water.
and in this, my friends, is a valuable lesson for us all. be careful, you don't HAVE to live in a trailer park... to end up on "Cops".
