War veteran titles on the board

I think the board should give titles to the war veterans of the board. OEF Veteran for Afghanistan and OIF Veteran for Iraq service. I think its a way to give back to those of us that have served overseas. Same thing goes for older members who may have served in vietnam and other conflicts as well. We are all proud of our service to our nation and to you great people back home that support us.

no offense to the military folks, but i think it should be kept bike related. you know...bike of the month winners, rally veterans, supporting members, 1st 1000 members. any other special titles will get to be too much.

when you turn your bike on, does it return the favor?

Or why not just allow custom user titles (that can be edited at will, without an act of Congress)?

Neat idea, but I have a few issues.
  • Once custom tags are created, the automated ones no longer work. That is, "squidly" or "TWF Champion" etc.
  • Each one requires me to manually edit the tag. For the colors and formatting it becomes cryptic, for instance here is R1up0n1's:

  • How do we verify someone isn't lying?
  • Opening up custom tags to other than site related will create the requests of others: bike clubs, etc. Where does stop it?

It's not a bad idea, but I'd prefer you just add it your signature.

Maybe im being sensitive. But the title veteran is almost always held for someone who has done service for their country. Maybe "participant" would be more fitting..I am a veteran.

If you are offended by the word veteran, perhaps Shan can change it to Rally Dragon Slayer or some such....

I'm a veteran and dont mind the idea of having it...but, keep your options open, design a code like the escape button. If it gets too much out of control, just Zap it back to the way it was, dont know how difficult this is, me beign a computer retard and all, but I'm just saying...keep your options open. Deuces.
