Scary movies

I am looking for the scariest movies people have ever seen. So what are your opinions? what movies do you recommend? Mainly looking for movies with ghosts and paranormal activity. Not really looking for serial killers or slasher flicks.

some movies that give you an idea of what i am looking for:
the ring
the grudge
house on haunted hill
the haunting
13 ghosts

stuff like that... so whatcha got?

Frailty~ Scary and creepy
Fenton Meeks (Matthew McConaughey), comes forth to tell the FBI that his brother Adam may be the serial killer who calls himself God's Hands, who the FBI has been searching for. The film uses flashbacks to show Meeks' childhood with a father (Bill Paxton) who believed he was on a mission from God to destroy demons that inhabit human bodies. Fenton saw his dad as evil, while Adam saw him as a hero.

way way way back in the day, prolly like 1979 Prophacy litterally scared me out of my seat. Or well one of my friends did when they snuck up behind me n grabed my shoulders as the monster jumped out to grab someone.

doesn't scare me anymore, kinda comical when I watched it recently, but the only two movies that have ever given me nightmares (when I was a kid) was the original "nightmare on elm street" and "IT".

Freakin' Freddy...had one re-occuring nightmare with him in particular!

I hate all the new scary movies. They suck.

The Shining
Some Stephen King
Original Exorcist
Original Psycho
Hitchcock stuff

Ones that aren't really scary that people classify as scary that I love are the evil dead series. There is just something about a girl getting violated by a plant that makes me laugh.

"Something Wicked this way Comes" scared me so bad as a child I slept wooden bat for a couple of nights.

"They" gave me chills.

"Dead Again" is not really scary, more along the lines of Sith Sense but still in my top ten movies.

Dumb and Dumber scares me because there are people out there who love this movie.

Is that one of the Saw movies? Those sucked balls. All they did was go for gore, some of my own thoughts (they would scare the bejesus out of most sane people though lol) scare me more than that crappy series...
