Songs that relate to bikes, cars, speed...

Red Barchetta by Rush
Trampled Underfoot by Led Zep
As the Rush Comes by Motorcycle

While I'm riding, I listen to everything from Led Zep & Rush to Delerium, to Crystal Method, to Depeche Mode, to BT, Massive Attack, to NIN...and more. I have a pretty wide range.

Hard Rock (esp classic) and Techno is the best for spirited street riding and track days. Down tempo & trip-hop is cool for laid back rides.

Some places it's legal for the rider as long as you don't have anything actually in your ears. I have a set of completely flat speakers, about 2" square & maybe an 1/8" thick and made of soft material, that velcro to the inside of the helmet next to your ears. They plug right into my MP3 player. However, you have to turn them up all the way to hear them, and at highway speeds you can't really hear the music at all.

I normally use a set of in-the-ear style earphones made by Phillips, that have different sized earbuds so you get a good fit (similar to Shure, but less expensive). They are supposed to be sound deadening, but all it really does is block wind noise, the way earplugs do. I can still hear my bike and other things going on around me, and since the wind noise is blocked, I don't need to turn the music up as loud. I don't think it's legal, but it's a chance I take so I can listen to music when I ride.

And of course, the track I go to (JenningsGP) allows allow you to listen to music, so it's no big deal there.

Kickstart my Heart, Crue
Bat outta Hell, Meatloaf

Some of my favorite riding music comes from an album called
"Saturday Morning - Cartoons greatest Hits"

Check out the Tra-La-La song (Banana Splits theme), Go Speed Racer, or the Ramones doing "Spiderman"

Yes, I'm still a kid!
