Puttin' up Ye Tree

When do you normally put up your tree if you haven't done it yet?? I will be doing mine next weekend or begining of the week. Normally Dec. 1-3rd.

I have 2 christmas trees to decorate. The one tree usually goes up between December 7th and December 10th. The other tree goes up usually depending on how Penn State is doing... Yep thats right I have a Penn State tree. If they do really well then the tree is up Thanksgiving evening but if not like this year it usually falls during the december 7th and 10th period as well.

Just be glad you don't live in the South...Those Blowups would get blown up here in quick time by some good ol boy passing by in his truck with a hand gun. or by one of the neighborhood inbreds with their Crossmans

We usually put up our tree, somewhere around my birthday. Anywhere between the 10th and 14th of December. We just started decorating. We put up our icicle lights around the roof of the house and just starting getting the rest of the stuff out of boxes. I love putting it up. Just hate taking it all down...LOL

2 weeks b/4 christmas..thats about as early as I'll go..and definately make sure that you go to the tree place when they've just gotten in a fresh shipment. no matter much we water the freekin thing, it always seem to dry out just b/4 or after christmas..between the 2 cats, the dog, and Jesse...pine needles all over the place is just crazy!!

Anytime after Turkey day is good for me...anytime before that is crap!

I can't stand that people go from Halloween to Christmas... just skip over t-day and all that it has to offer....it's the retailazation of christmas...

It just makes me MAD!!

Well that's the secret, a$$! I ALWAYS water the tree myself. Because I know that Allen sure as hell isn't gonna do it. He always says, "I'll do it in a minute." 6 days later... But you're right, pine needles SUCK!

Yes she did. It was to be a surprise for me when I got home but Austin told me over the phone. LOL

I have always used tylanol or the cheap ones from the store to put in the water and it helps the tree not lose so many needles.

As long as it's after Thanksgiving it's all good. The same is true for turning on the outdoor lights. I will put them up sooner if the weather gets real nice, but they aren't allowed to be turned on for good (testing is acceptable) until after Thanksgiving.

Going this weekend.

This is the time of year I wish I celebrated Festivus (for the rest of us), with it's unornamented steel pole.
