OMG! Twinkies!!!!

Right now (EST) on Nightline they did a whole segment on Twinkies!!! How they came about, original ads, did you know there are 39 ingredients in a Twinkie?

Anyone else catch it? Or watch Nightline if it hasn't come to you westerners yet.

All I could think of was my TWF Twinkie Hottie!!!

Banana flavored Twinkies? Hmmm...... then again, there're Banana moon pies, which are (frighteningly enough) pretty good.

ONCE. Split one with Chris. I forget where we were, but everyone was telling us we HAD to try one. It was actually pretty darned good, but WAYYYY too friggin' sweet. Yeah, one about every decade is about right.

It was described by the New York Times in this way: "Something magical occurs when the pastry hits the hot oil. The creamy white vegetable shortening filling liquefies, impregnating the sponge cake with its luscious vanilla flavor. . . The cake itself softens and warms, nearly melting, contrasting with the crisp, deep-fried crust in a buttery and suave way. The piece de resistance, however, is a ruby-hued berry sauce, adding a tart sophistication to all that airy sugary goodness."
