Military Wives?

I'm not sure how many of you ladies out there have guys that are over seas. Or how many of you guys had to leave your women to go over seas? Jon has been in training all week and is now on his way to the sand box.

He's not going to be gone that long, so at least I don't have to worry about that. We'll keep in touch when possible, but I already miss him and want him home where he's safe.

I'm curious how many of you have been through this and how you survived?

It was easy for me, I was on an aircraft carrier in the persian gulf. I was kind of way too busy to dwell over being away. Time went buy fast and I was able to call home about one a month wrote many letters and avoided the hookers when I was in port.

It was easy for me and the wife (she's ex-military). She was really understanding and just kept herself busy with the kids, work and school.

Now my girlfriend on the other hand, she couldn't handle it......

Only had one activation so far, and that didn't go well.
GF at the time apparently got "lonley" after about 2 months. Started sleeping with a former friend of mine... and then when I asked her about it, she denyed it.

With the current gf, never done more than a 2 week stint away so idk
Just hope all goes well when the time comes

I'm not the kind of girl to go sleep around and use the lame excuse 'I was lonely'. That's BS.

I miss him like crazy, but I'm not out to replace him by any means. He just filled up my life when he was home, now he'll be out of contact and I have to find ways to keep myself busy. I guess I'll go buy another leather suit and start doin track days, work on my tan, exercise so that I look good for him when he comes home. Thanks all for the input.

No worries, I don't need a damn support group. I was just curious how many people have been in this situation. I'm pretty strong and resilient for a girl.

He did a 12 month tour to Iraq which he came home from last november. So this is his second.

I was worried about him last year, and missed him but we weren't together then. We were just REALLY good friends.
