OK- A little background. Here in Montgomery Co. Maryland, the county controls all alcohol sales and all liquor stores. I take it the county bought too much Macallen and put it on sale. I got it for $140 a bottle !!. It's normally just under $200 anywhere else. So I bought 2.

But the stupid part of this is we have a brewery here. The place has to sell the county it's beer then buy it back. F'n idiots.

not a bad price for The Mac

Sell it to the county and buy it back so what they can sell it to the world?? I might be time for a change of venue... if they don't benefit from some other tax deductions....

That stuff is great, have you ever had the 25 year? It will pretty much give you an orgasm.

Also, for a REAL bang for your buck and something very smooth, try a Balvenie 21 year portwood.... Aged for 20 years as a normal scotch, then the last year in a barrel in which port wine was stored. Gives an extremely smooth scotch with the taste of port coming through. Only about 120 bucks. REALLY good chit. In my top 5 scotches.

I bet once you've tasted it, it'll become a regular in your cabinet, and you'll thank me profusely

JW Blue is crap compared to the Mac. For the 25 YO sometimes you have to make a compromise.

This man speaks the truth.

If you're into cask strength, try Aberlour's a'bunadh. KILLER stuff, and VERY reasonable at about $65... they are a small distillery. Not to mention it's ridiculously smooth and 59.5% alc/vol.

I have a bottle here if you'd like to come have a manly sit-down
