My "orders" are in!!!

For a few months now I've been toying with a HUGE decision of joining the military. I haven't been able to decide which branch to go with, until recently. It was a fight between Army vs Navy for the past 5 months. I have talked to Sgt's, Petty Officers...Captn's and everyone in between ranks about what I "should" do. Of course it came down too a serious 24 hours of soul-searching, no drinking (believe it or not) and a phone call. Turns out yesterday I received a call from the Navy. They offered me more than I could imagine, more than I would of gotten going with the Army. Don't get me wrong, this is not a fight between which branch is better. Were all in it together, whether people want to admit it or not. So yea..I am "shipping" out this time next month. I am so nervous right now I could !! This is really a huge decision and now I'm totally owned by lol. So I guess if you don't see me around as much..it's because Im busy getting my ass in shape and preparing for boot camp! Wish me luck everyone..I"m sooo gonna need it!

USAF is the only way to go

But congrats

Hopefully u chose a career field thats marketable in the civ world incase u decide to get out after your term. If not, be sure to cross train into a marketable career field before getting out.

Everyone! You guys rock hardcore!!! I am trying to get into EOD. That's where my love is..bombs n water. Can't go wrong w/ blowing **** up ALthough I am leaving my MOS open so I can move up when there are openings. So..Im really just going to boot, getting that done and seeing where it all takes me. My long term plan is to go to Officer school. Something tells me I'd be good at screaming at ppl

PG: Yep..I had to be IN BOOT by the time my "mid life crisis" comes..which is in February..lol.

again everyone. I love this place..I"m going to miss it while Im gone...but I'll be sure to check in when I can

Yeah leaving it open in the Army means they choose what job you get meaning the crappy ones no one wants

military

Back in the day i got in trouble with the law and giving the option (jail or military) I choose military of course and after 8yrs of it, No f*cking regrets none what so ever. LOL, the judge said i had 2 weeks to visit with family and girlfriend and i was off to boot camp. I choose to be a Welder (Hull Tech) in the US Navy
Loved every bit of it. Was on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72 during shock and awe.

If you don't strike for something-you'll end up chipping paint on an old rusty ship !! If I remember right-You had to apply for EOD or SEAL after you finish-and that could take a while before you even get to take the admissions test. Then you have to wait for a class spot. Good Luck- !!!!

Congrats and thank you for what you're going to do...

don't ever feel like people don't appreciate you... the number of "those" people is far smaller than the ones that do.

Thanks again.... and best of luck. Make sure you check in once in a while
