Don't want to pay your taxes?

Check this out. Not positive on how true this is, but a little research would shed some light on it. Granted, I'm too lazy right now to look up the court case.

The bureaucratic complex is already too huge, the system would never let most of their funding be cut out from underneath them.

It's true though, the government's way bigger than the founding fathers intended. This is partly good partly bad; in modern times I think a skeleton crew government would not suffice but the overreaching idiocy that characterizes a lot of local and state governments and especially the federal government needs an axe taken to it.

Let's go Ron Paul!!

Here's a great article on the problem with our electoral process and the attitude of voters.

New Yorker FTW.

I've noticed he's making the rounds. Probably a bit late for 08, though.

This guy does make a good point. Think of the BILLIONS of dollars that are being spent on Homeland Security alone. I am not saying we don't need it but honestly how many 'terrorist' do you think are being caught using warrant-less wiretaps under the patriot act? And if we created a new department to handle our entire 'homeland security' why did the Department of Defenses budget just keep rising?, I understand there is a war going on and wars cost money but you would think that alleviating the DoD of such a large job would at least keep there budget steady for a little while. Scale down that department alone and you are looking at at least a $100 break on taxes for the average American (assuming the 301 million population estimate and the $44.6 billion DoHS budget) is somewhat accurate) Or how about the 'no child left behind act' gimme a break, created to raise the bar on education for our children but signed into power by a complete idiot. Its a GREAT idea but all that bill is accomplishing right now is pouring money into a plan that wasn't designed to work but just to create good press for the president. I could go on and on about how are country was doing ok (not great) before the Bush administration and now we are very close to being totally ****ed thanks to the Bush administration almost doubling the national debt. Our government has broken free from the control of the people and now treats us as nothing more than the means to which it continues to survive. If the US makes it to 500 years old I will be extremely surprised. My theory is that we are like the play ground bully, we may be the biggest but not necessarily the brightest, and in the end we are going to get our ass kicked by someone we pushed around one too many times. And before someone goes off I would like to make it clear I am not bashing our troops over in Iraq or talking down on our police officers this is all aimed at the federal gov. at large.
