Look what I killed this weekend

Well, there I was, being Mr. Domestic and putting down some landscaping mulch. I was down on my knees putting some mulch under a shrub, and what do I see about three inches from my hand? Mr. Copperhead.

Scared the crap out of me. But, shovel always beats snake.

Wynona loved her big brown beaver
And she stroked him all the time.
She pricked her finger one day and it
Occurred to her she might have a porcupine

Thats a little one. Lucky it didnt bite you though. Little or not, a bite on the hand would sucked big time.

I was putting down pine mulch, so that's pretty much all I could smell. I almost smelled crap in my shorts, however.

Bastage was big enough to bite, so that's big enough for me!

Ted Nugent just called and he wants his bike back.

A full size copperhead on can't really inflict much damage. At the most (Not counting going into anapylactic shock) your hand might fall off. That's worste case scenerio. Most hospitals won't even administer anti-venom if you are bit by a copperhead. They just observe you for a bit to make sure your hand won't fall off.

If I do see a copperhead I won't kill it. Mainly because they kill mice and other nasty rodents. Which my grandpa was a farmer so he welcomed a copperhead and that's where I got that from. Plus copperheads are the most cowardly snakes and will get out of there if they hear large animal noises such as human footsteps.

Watermoccasins (Copperheads cousin) I do hate. I hate them with a passion. They are extremely curious snakes and will swim up to you while fishing or swimming.
