How's this for off topic...Dyson Vacumes

I finally broke down and got a new vac. A little over a year ago I got a border collie/australian shepherd mix. Smart dog but he sheads like,"How can he still have hair on his body with all that's in the house!?!" Anyway,so I've been dealing with an old Hoover WindTunnel vac I got like 10 years ago. Good enough machine but with all the hair ,I have to change the bag, clean the beater bar and unclog the hose about every other use. I mean I'm replacing vac bags like almost once a month or some chit! What a pain!!! So my dumb azz goes out and buys this Dyson Animal contraption...what the hell,no light, no self propelled like my last machine, and it's f-ing PURPLE! Yeesh,if I was Prince that'd be okely dokely but cripes, they don't make a closet deep enough to hide this fruity p.o.s. from my boys when they come over. They say that it never loses suction (hey it's purple and it never stops sucking...maybe it IS Prince in disguise! )which is good I guess,if it's true. Has anyone used one of these things and how well do they REALLY work? Heck, this purple pieman /The Joker looking mf-er can find it's way back to Lowes and I can get Dirt Devil or some chit for $100 and call it good!

Purchased Dyson DC 15 animal at Costco while back, saved $100 off list price of $599. We have three long haired cats, Persian and Himalayan's, wife swears Dyson best vacuum she has ever used. No bags just empty canister, their is washable filter you clean once a year.
Also purchased Dyson handheld 21.6 volt battery vacuum, which I use and love it

I've heard nothing but rave reviews about the Dyson, so much so, it's on my wish-list. ( Sad that I'd be so impressed with the buzz about a vacuum that I'd "wish" for one )

Be sure to post up a review once you get it (I've been looking at the Prince Purple Animal model as well)

I just turn on Mind of Mencia. It sucks hard enough to clean up britney spears vajayjay. That's a lot of suckage.

We bought a refurb Dyson off WOOT.com for $200. Best vaccum we've ever owned.

Huh... I'll have to check that out!! Much easier to justify $200 for a vacuum than $600.

Yea I already bought it and got it home and found it to be PURPLE!!! Typical bonehead guy move,I saw the display with the regular, not quite as fruity screaming banana yellow model and the box had signage for both and the Animal that DIDN'T have a display said it was best with pet hair so.......

Two long haired cats make the Dyson indespensible at our house. We received one as a present last Christmas and I'll never go back.

This is the greatest description of a vacuum EVER! Nice job.

My mother-in-law has the purple dyson and she loves it.

I have a Rainbow E-Series ($1600) Best vacuum in the world. Seriously, and there is no bag to change. Just dump the water in the bowl after every use.
