I seriously do not believe that the phone will go for anywhere near that. If it does, it's probably Apple buying it which they won't give the kid the money simply because they'll take him to court for being a "hacker".

Just look at it:

" Make No Payments Until 2008"

All bidders on the phone are just "bidder XX" , they don't list a name.

On top of that, it seems like the same bidder has control the entire time, I've checked for like 10 minutes and it's always "bidder62".

On top of that, if you look at his comments/feedback, he has two other things he sold, he just buys everything.

Like right now, it changed to 'Bidder 42", they've had it for 5 minutes and it was up to $20million! Um, yeah, no need to say much more.

It just got listed and is listed for a 7 day bid (standard, I think), so if its $20million now, by the end of the 7th day when bidding closes, I'm going to have to say it'll be like $20trillion!

Come on people...Can we say FAKE ITEM?

Seriously, I want to meet the idiota that buys this!

That's interesting but seriously... Just look at the dollar figure the phone is at. Now who is going to pay that much for a cell phone. Geez, the phone will cost you more than you'll EVER pay in your life in cell phone bills!

I wonder if Apple is bidding on this phone?? So they can see how this kid unlocked the phone??? Otherwise I don't have an answer as to why someone would be so stupid to pay millions on a damn cell phone

Something seems fishy

its at the maximum ebay will let a bid go to $99,999,999.

Gotta be BS by now, sucks for him though cuz he could have made a few hundred bucks, but now nothing cuz they are for sale elsewhere.

it does seem like but u never know...if people have the money and they want something bad enough they will pay exorbitant amounts of money for it. $99,999,999.00 is pushing it tho.

that apple may be behind this high price because they have the other one "in a top secret vault" and they dont want this to leak out. its smart on the guys part tho cus he may have figured apple would pay a HUGE amount of money to keep this from getting into someones hands.

I'm 99% positive that this guy will not get that much money for the phone. People are just screwing with him at this point. I also wouldn't be surprised if Apple takes him to court.

And by the way, if apple wanted to know how to do it this kid put directions on his blog.

Of course it's a fake bidding war. Whenever an item with notoriety get's placed on ebay, some teenage genius somewhere gets the idea to make a fake account and bid up to 305823507754383 dollars.
That's part of the reason most ebay auctions state you must have previous transactions. For some reason numbnuts like to set up accounts on ebay and bid on things they want but don't actually have the money to pay for.

I am trying to get a hold of eBay right now as I am sure many of these bids are fraudulent. Please do not bid if you do not intend to buy.

all the bids are from bot accounts if you look at the bid history you can tell. They are probably also all controlled by a single person just trying to be an ass.
