I just read on another forum that cnn.com has a story about the NAACP pushing to have Vick reinstated into the NFL after he serves his sentence. If he serves 40 years, I dont want him playing QB at age 70+

That's some BS. I can't believe how the NAACP gets involved in everything. ****, why don't Vick just go get Cochran and Sharpton to rep him!

It don't even matter if he does get reinstated though. The fans of the team that signs him will make his life hell along with the rest of the fans.

I think ESPN or CNN this morning had some thing on there that said to the effect of, "Young black males in todays society, especially in the United States, are under such scrutinization and a disadvantage that what they are doing to Vick is just not fair."

Yes, punishing him for commiting a crime that he plead guilty to is SO unfair.

Hey, I'm with you on that one. And making him give back his signing bonus that he got from the Falcons is even worse.

It's my personal opinion that the Falcons should give him double the amount of his contract and the signing bonus for the mental anquish that he is going through for having a dog fighting ring ran out of one of his homes and actually murdering some of the dogs by his hand.

That's just my though

From what I hear, the 40 years comes from the state of Va. There is a maximum of 5 years for each act of animal cruelty, and supposedly Ookie and his posse killed 8 dogs.

Howevah, the state probably won't get theirs as part of the federal plea. So, the ol Vickster can look forward to 12 - 18 months in a federal lockup. Not 40 years, but no picnic.

As for will he play again? Hell yes. As long as there are crappy teams like the Raiders and Browns, people like Vick will always have work. Hell, Tim Couch was on someone's roster this preseason!

ESPN News did a stint on that question though. The whole "play again" deal. They believe that MOST teams won't take him cause of the **** that they'd get from fans.

40 years is if they count each charge to the max or something along those lines. They don't normally do that. Unless of course you get caught banging your judge's wife, daughters, and son. Then he might go ahead and beat you with the book.

I had a friend who got charged with assult with a knife. She faced 20years at the max. 10 years for for each of her 2 felony charges. In the end she only got 10years probation with a couple grand in fines.

And a my friend's father's friend showed me his arrest record. He got cot with 500hits of acid(He was planning to sell at a Grateful dead concert), ecstacy, heroine, cocaine, pot. Plus a list of 50+ guns they confiscated. On top of a criminal record and looked into for being a drug kingpin. He got 30years and was out in 18months.

I honestly don't see Vick spending more than a year in jail. 2 at the most 6months at the least.

But all in all. Who gives a crap? He's going to be the king of the jail when he gets there and will probably be fighting dogs again when he gets out. I hope he rots but he won't so no need to worry about it.

Oh yeah. I move pool tables and have actually done many Falcon's tables and other celebrities here in Atlanta. And before I started my partner did Michael Vicks table during the time he broke his leg or had some kind of injury. He said that Vick was playing himself on the playstation.

Well, I think its bs. I was in the Army and it even makes me pissed about the injustices served within that.

I think there should be a STANDARD, none of this "good behavior", knock the sentence down shiot!

Just like those on death row, kill em now, forget letting them sit there for years appealing and living. It's like if you take a life, are found guilty or admit to it, then you should have yours taken right then and there too.

Over-crowding in jails and problems with immigration? Let the convicts go pick the fruits and work at the farms, problem solved with that!

But I think it's BS about the special treatment that celebrities get and people of that sort.

You may be right about how much time he actually serves but before you ask if someone is retarded you might want to look at the state charges...they did mention a max of 40 years is possible. (not probable though)

The maximum of 6 is federal charges only...are you retarded?

damn yall harsh time served and bam he'll be back at it again do yall realize there are players in the NFL that has done far worse things like drunk driving and killing a human being and much worse things the crimes were bad but shii a year or so and a 250 g fine is more than enough to pay his debt to society congressman have tried to molest little boys and gotten less time this doesn't even compare to half the things others have done I agree its not a race issue i think all stars are targeted and treated unfairly thats the problem **** the bs they have to be role models half the mofos that say that they should be better role models for their own kids they prob get drunk and do bad things in front of them but they always say oh he is a role model i'm my sons hero. bs they get paid to play hard and win games not be a role model so whatever if they are the bigger man and do positive things to help out our youth then cool but its their choice and by the way vick has dropped a lot of money being a good role model so whatever i would love to see him play again time served

hah, i guess his friends and certain people are trying to defend him by insinuating that dog fighting is part of "black culture"... like its completely normal for blacks to be having dog fights... like you have to look at it through the black/dogfighters perspective...

kind of like looking at the extermination of millions of jews through a facist germans perspective.

its all relative, right?

I think what bothers me with Vick is that he wasn't drunk or anything. He thought about these things BEFORE he did them, and he did them anyway. Thats the big difference between him and a drunk driver. The drunk had a few too many, made a bad choice (using his newly impaired judgement), and accidentally killed someone. Vick not only thought about his actions beforehand, he killed multiple dogs over time.

Some team will take a chance on him-have a huge media blitz saying he's a changed man-first time he score a TD-all will be forgiven. Fans are fickle. He's only an A-hole if he's on the other team.
