R1up0n1's update

As some may have noticed I haven't been on TWF a whole lot lately. As some may know I just bought a house a few months ago and I have been doing a lot of renovations that has been keeping me off TWF. My g/f and I bought a house off an old elderly couple that is now in a nursing home and they just didn't do the whole "keeping up to date" thing in the house. They always took care of things when needed, but never a "modern" renovation I should say. That leaves projects for me to do I guess.

First off I started with the bathroom which has taken forever for me to 100% renovate.

Pic of the house for starters

Look at that nasty ass tile, and old cast sink...ehhhh

The tub was in good shape...but OMFG the color, and it was a bitch to get out...even though I busted it out with a sledge hammer. (pieces were still heavy)

I had to replace a section of the sub floor under the toilet.

At this point I had already re-tiled the entire bathroom...time to get rid of the shower tile b/c that isn't getting re-tiled.

Here is the new tub sitting in my basement waiting to get installed.

All the plumbing had to change, that was fun...

The new floor in place

The new tub and tub wall

Here's the bathroom pretty much complete.

(This took almost 2 months to complete and many trips to Lowes)

On top of all this we just got an 8 week old puppy last Sunday that we named Cassie. She is a beshawn/yorkie mix. Here's a few pics of her.

Ohhhh before I forget... I'm getting another bike here real soon.

Sweet house, I'm about to learn what that is like, I close on my new house in October.

So, decide on a make/model of your next bike then???

Congrats on the house and the hard work you're putting into it.

Cute dog! I have a Bichon Frise (pronounced 'bee-shawn free-say') as well (I assume that's what you meant) but mine is all bichon and not a mix. They really are great dogs... great temperament and not really good for anything but keeping you company

Here he is:

Thanks! There is a lot more pics and detail that I didn't include in this thread, but I replaced everything in that damn bathroom right down to adding shut off valves to the sink. I know I've added a lot of value to this house just by painting the entire house, all new carpet, renovating the bathroom...the master bedroom bath is next.

but it's worth it.
It's already worth it....I have to having things up to date.

Yes I did have a bike accident not long ago...I was able to stay on light duty...basically just work on the database at work the whole time, but I still got my 40 hrs a week and a full paycheck.....needless to say all my renovations I was able to pay cash...we never put anything on our credit cards yet.

Yeah I meant Bichon/yorki. I didn't want a big dog to look after...just a little puppy that will keep us company...hopefully she will do it. Right now she doesn't even know her name, and every word I say to her is NO!

ehhh, I hate cast iron stuff, it is durable, but it's freakin cold, the new shower wall gave us tons of room for shampoo and soap compared to the old tub there was only 2 places to put that stuff. Also there was no vanity under the sink before...that drove me nuts.

Next...is the bathroom in the master bedroom which will be simple since it's a 1/2 bath so I'll just be replacing the floor, toilet, sink and vanity. There's no tile in there to lay...thank god!

The kitchen will get a 1/2 renovation this winter that will consist of a new floor, countertop, new sink, faucet, garbage disposal, new countertop flat glass stove, and restain the cabinets.
We will do a total renovation with new cabinets and new design in a couple years or so since that will cost so much.

good job on the renovations... i've also been busy with crappy work that the builder did on my new house. twas about 3 weeks before i had a chance to ride.

Seems like i spend more time at Home Depot than my own home.
