New moderators

Recently I've promoted Gas Man to ADMINISTRATOR, please congratulate him (or give condolences as necessary)

And today, Trip and Neebelung have accepted a volunteer postition to moderate the forum as well.

Please welcome them as your new mods and be patient as we teach them the ropes.

SHAN WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!

jk, congrats and good luck all!

one question tho. what all is required of a mod, besides the obvious of checking new member posts, attempting to keep OSP in line, and randomly changing members names?

I mean, if all the mods would not sign in for a couple days, would the forum shut down?
Basically just wondering how much time the new mods need to spend on the forum "moderating" and how much less time they will have for ing.

Mods take care of the nasty spam that members never see, approving all f/s threads, new members, some pics, etc as well as monitoring the site for inappropriate content. We also depend on you guys to let us know if there is something we have missed.

I noticed when I became a mod I spent awhile digging into old stuff and learning the ropes and it did affect my . I also spend much more time just reading, not really commenting unless I feel it warrants the effort... Everyone will be different...

Oddly enough, that is the first thought that popped in my head when Shan asked me.

Then as I thought about it, this might actually be a good punishment for all my a**holery. Now I have to keep the other me's inline.
