Snowbirds Canadian Demo Flyers!
I skipped out early yesterday and saw a small air show at Drake Field here in Fayetteville. The Canadian Snowbirds were the headline act and they were awesome.
I have seen the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds, so this is right up my alley. The 9 plane unit was tight and the presentation was great.
Flying wing tip to wing tip pulling loops and dives in a precision demo that is incredible. I wonder at the folks driving here in Fayetteville, they can't even merge on the interstate properly.
Also appearing was a Twin Beech from 1943 doing CRAZY stunts. It was flown by Matt Younkin (sp?) and for those of you that don't know he is an awesome pilot. The Twin Beech is a twin engines cargo plane from the 40's and not meant for aerobatics. I am sure his was hot rodded but man the stunts he pulled were unbelieveable.
