Hello,

Just curious of folks experience with kneedraggers.com? On the 27th, I ordered a Barracuda bolt-on that was noted to ship in 2-3days. After placing the order, i received a message that it was backordered and wanted to know if I'd like to wait. I said that I would. Now it's the 8th and they say that they don't have an in-stock date yet.

Any one run into this with kneedraggers.com? I go a great price and don't want to let it go.

Have a good one,

tony

Tony,

I have had a couple experiences with kneedraggers. Overall, they have been good.

Several of my orders were flawless. One time, I had the same thing happen to me that you are describing, and it was with something time-sensitive that I NEEDED before I went away with my bike. I bought something else at a different place and returned their product when it finally showed up. I wrote them a nasty email, too.

THey responded to this by quickly crediting my credit card and giving me a $50 credit to a future purchase, along with a nicely writting email apologizing for the incident, as well as very quickly dealing with my next order and shipping it immediately.

When it comes to businesses, you have to realize that things often happen that are unexpected, and they are not always that particular businesses' fault (could be their distributor or whatever). What tells you if they are a good place or not is HOW and HOW QUICKLY they deal with these unexpected setbacks. This is also what tells you if they are going to value you as an individual customer.

My experience with kneedraggers showed me that these last two statements worked out favorably with respect to them.

Christopher,

Thanks for the info on your experiences.

I buy quite a bit online especially for my cycle, but usually if somethings not in stock, it is general noted that way (like at newenough.com).

I'm now feeling better about waiting though. I'm also anixous to get the stock pipe that I swiss cheesed off. I'm sure the flow is NOT optimal. Sounds a bit better.

Have a good one,

tony

That is the only thing I don't like about kneedraggers. It seems like they don't have a direct link with their distributor to determine if something is backordered until they actually place their order with them (which is obviously after you have placed your order). This is a drawback, however, it seems that they will readily remedy these situations in your favor.

If you have something extremely time-sensitive, either get it from somewhere else or CALL kneedraggers and have them check with their distributor first.

All in all, they are nice people there. I recommend them.

That's how it was when I ordered my leather suit as well.
The AGV's were all backordered until late Oct (it was July), so they offered me a 10% discount on any different item.
I got them to up it to 15%, and then went with a Joe Rocket suit. Shipped the next day. Overall, very happy with their service.

Highjacking my own thread:

How do you like the FZ1? I'll be in the market for something used about 3yrs from now. It has to accept hard side backs big enough for a helmet on one side and a laptop bag on the other.

So, there are GIVI mounts for the FZ and the V-strom as well as a couple other sporty communters that I like.

Have a good one,

tony

There is no rush. I am just tired of busting skinny 8in drill bits trying to get some more flow out of the stock pipe. It sounds pretty good now (though nothing close to the sweet sound of openness), but I know I'm getting some nasty flow interactions.

Yeah, there's no givin' up on this deal. The round titanium was priced under the round aluminum. So, I jumped on that and an integrated tail. I was going to post it here as the same pipe will fit other mid to late '90s Kawa 750s. As soon as the order submitted and I started a post, the price popped way up.

Can't wait to here what it sounds like, esp coming out of downshifts.

Thanks again,

My husband has always had great success with that website.

Recently I ordered my leather pants from them. The first pair I ordered did not fit so I returned them for another pair. They got me my second pair very quick plus they have no BS restoring fees...I only had to pay to ship the first pair back.

Also, their "puck-buck" system is pretty cool. After getting my pants we got $60 off our next order.

I've had good experiences with them... though they weren't the speediest with processing and shipping my order... but over all very good.... I had some issues with my order that came up and so I had to call their customer service number... VERY good service. I'd buy from them again no problem.

if your having trouble call them... they'll take care of you... they did me.

:luck:

I love My FZ1, I have Nelson mini's on mine. not big enough for a helmet but fine for my comute. Mini's from Kneedraggers. As well as both my tires, Field armor boots and recon pants. My Jacket Was off the rack and they took off $25.00 for being my first in store purchace. (So they said) But who cares a deal is a deal it took it.

Just curious. How many revs are you turning in 6th gear at highway speed, say 70mph?

I went up a tooth (17t) on my front sprocket and am turning just under 4800rpm. I'd like it to be even less than that (maybe 4k), but 1st will start getting screwed up.

With 16t stock, it was running at 5100rpm and was very annoying over long distances. Besides, my top gear acceleration sucks at anything over 70 anyway.

I've had good experiences with kneedraggers as well. Once I ordered two sets of front brake pads, only got one, but I called and they immediately sent out another without any hassle. Any company will have its share of mishaps, but its how they handle those mishaps that seperate the good from the crap, and I think kneedraggers does a good job if they do happen to f up.

Just an update. I received the pipe just today. kneedraggers did come through. There were a couple dings on the outside of the inlet flange (the widest part of the pipe). They definitely came from the MFGs packing and handling. Not an issue for me, but might be for others.

Sounds freakin' sweet, esp with the sound insert removed. Now to see what happens with the MPGs.

I will upload a pic or two once I take 'em and create an account somewhere.

Ha thats funny.

On another forum a similar complaint was voiced today as well about the same website.

Her's on the other hand has been going on for 7? 8 months? I dont know I'll have to check...either way same complaint...item was on backorder & more and more excuses were given as to why her item is not recieved.

leaves a bad taste in my mouth hearing two complaints about the same thing, about the same website on the same day...even if others havent had problems with them, I dont think I will be using them ever.

If they don't have the item, you don't HAVE to wait for it. They will give you the options of
1. waiting for the backorder to be filled
2. picking a different product, usually at a discount
3. getting a refund

If you are set on what you picked, but don't want to wait, take your money elsewhere to get the product.

In the end, kneedraggers came through. They delivered a Ti pipe for less than the cost of the aluminum one. This was most likely a pricing mistake on their site. They were up front about the backorder, and I was not about to cancel that order because of a bit of a wait. I was not in a hurry, but I wanted something better than the hack job I did on the stock can.

BTW, it was $370 including shipping for a Ti can and an integrated LED tail, both of which bolted right on and fit perfect. Yeah, the bolt-on flange was a bit dinged, but that was a MFG packing issue, not KD.com.

The reason for the orginal post, was that I was just getting anxious. I was re-assured that KD.com would pull through, and they did.

I will use them again. The folks that I hate to use are the dealerships. If I have to buy something locally, 90% of the time it is from Bent Bike, a local recycler/discount store.

Why is it that dealerships that sell on the net can offer good prices even though they maintain real stores, yet gouge you for MSRP and then some when you visit? I know: captive audience and glory riders that post up 1,200mi a year.

i've done lots of kneedraggers.com orders, all have bene fast, one bad one.. bought new forks springs, they sat in a closet for 9 monthes beofre install, turns out they gavem e the wrong springs and would not even tradem e for the right ones due to time, understandable, but they also should have done it anywyas, still their mistake.. i wont order high end stuff from them anymore unless its installed upon arrival.... Otherwise they are good, normally fast and good prices, though a small local shop can mathc it or close to it without that risk of wrong parts or delays if u have a good relationship with them
