neck warmth/protection

While riding my lower chin/neck get cold, what kind of protection is out there that doesn't cover my whole head which will make my helmet too tight.

I've got a couple balaclavas... one is Turtle Fur or something like that (very warm), and the other is some thinner material (more just keeps the breeze out, but not super warm; good for early winter).

Also, while you're at it, pick up some of the silk glove liners. Great for transitional season (before it's actually cold enough to wear winter gloves) and they don't add any bulk (I know some people also just opt for rubber/surgical gloves under their regular riding gloves).

I have an under armour cold gear hood. It goes around your whole head, but i doubt its thick enough to make your helmet tighter. Super warm too.

Get you a scarf. That way you can look like you are running the Isle of Man circa 1934.

I thought about taking a ski mask and cutting the bottom out so it goes just around my neck.

What kind of helmet do you have? Shoei makes a chin cutain for their helmets.

Check out hunting stores. There are tons of face masks and stuff made for hunting. Cabela's and Bass Pro are two of the biggest ones.

I wear a Gator... issued by military

easy way to describe it, it's like when you cut a sleve off of a t-shirt.
can go just on your neck, or cover your ears. works great!

Fot football we used to always have sleves cut off of shirts that we put around our heads when it started getting cold. Our hair looked incredible after we took the helmets off.

take an old beanie-or new one from like the 99cent store, and just cut the top off.

i dont like the surgical glove thing, hands cant breathe, and then start to sweat, no matter how cold it is.

get a cheap knit glove that stretches alil-hands still breathe, but alil warmer before you need an all-out winter glove.

these are cheap fixes cuz you really only use em a couple times each season, and once it warms up again, they either get lost or tossed.....then again, i am in so. cali....
