Canon SD1000

Hey i'm looking to get a 150-200 dollar digital camera for christmas. The canon powershot sd1000 is the main one I am looking at right now. Does anybody have any other suggestions or comments about cameras in this range?

Bestbuy has it for 199 and newegg.com has it for 175 and if my mom gets it before the end of the month it comes with a free 1gig sd card and a case.

i actually own one.

It's my "mini cam" for traveling since lugging my DSLR and getting setup takes a while....

It's not a bad lil' cam. Takes some decent pictures, and video mode isn't too bad.

has a "special" feature to allow time-elapsed photography and stuff.... not bad. I'd buy it again.

for DSLR's Canon's or Nikons are the way to go. I've got a Canon. Lots of lenses, but damn the flashes arn't cheap (I've got the EX-580II).

It's nice and small so I can carry it in a vest pocket or something and can get to it relatively easily. the buttons arn't *too* small.... but kinda on the smallish side.

As far as small point n shoot mini-cams. I'd stick w/ the major brands, Canon's are nice, Sony's arnt too bad either and very user friendly/intuitive.
