TWF Useless Trivia

Starting a new thread.... I personally am a fan of useless trivia...

So let's get this thing started properly with.....

The Worlds Longest Midget Toss

How long was the world's longest midget toss?

In the mid 80's a sport emerged in pubs and bars and took America by storm. That sport was midget tossing or dwarf tossing.

The rules were simple; grab a little person and throw him or her as far as you possibly can.

Now we're sure many of you think this was very cruel, but keep in mind that these flying little people got paid a giant sum to be hurled by drunken pub patrons. Some of them made over $100,000.00 a year until 1989 when the sport became banned in the US.

The longest midget toss on record that we could find was made during the British Dwarf Tossing championships of 2002 when Jimmy Leonard of England tossed all 4'4" and 98 pounds of Lenny the Giant a giant 11 feet 5 inches.

Cow Trivia

How much thought have you ever given to cows? Yes, that’s right, cows. Probably not a lot. Here are some fun facts about cows that may make you feel closer to these animals.

It takes about 350 “squirts” to make a gallon of milk.

Cows navigate by looking at the ground. If one is stuck in a field that’s covered with water, she has no idea where she is.

If a cow dies of heatstroke, the gases inside it can expand quickly and cause the carcass to explode.

A typical cow generates about 20,000 pounds of manure in a year.

If the gas of ten cows could be captured it could heat a house for a year.

The methane gas released by cows’ burping and farting is said to be one of the leading causes of holes in the ozone layer. The world’s cows produce about 100 million tons of it every year.

The sun isn't warming, the earth is on a warming trend from coming out of an ice age. The earths temp have always gone in a cycle.

Trivia for 27 NOV 2007

Trivia for 27 NOV 2007

--------------

Who is the world's fastest beer guzzler?

Even with these tips you'll be hard pressed to beat the two following beer guzzling records we managed to find.

Peter G. Dowdeswell of Earls Barton, Northants, England guzzled 2 liters or 68 ounces of beer in a frothy 6 seconds on February 7, 1975.

Steven Petrosino of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania downed 1 liter of beer or 33 ounces in a chilly 1.3 seconds on June 22, 1977.

Beer guzzling tips: Drink light beer and let the beer warm up so the carbonation doesn't slow you down.

Even if you can't compete with the world's fastest beer guzzlers, remember, practicing can be fun.
