i really dont think the name fits as i'll always see the ZR1 as a high revving high tech dohc monster. but then again the C3 ZR1 had pushrods. meh, its not worth arguing about as car companies are gonna do whatever they feel like
I think I'd opt for a real sports car if I was spending upwards of $100K. Perhaps a Porsche GT3, a Ferrari 360 Modena, a Ferrari F430 coupe...or I'd get the Ducati Desmosedici RR for $72,500 and spend the leftover $27,500 on hookers and blow.
Fords really in trouble now, they had to use superchargers just to try to keep up with GM before, with GM starting to use superchargers, Ford is screwed. Gotta love those LS motors.
Ford, GM, and Chrysler are all in trouble. Not from each other but Japan and Europe. Unless the Big 3 do something drastic like fire every Union worker and then hire new employees. I don't see them sticking it out for another 10-20years. No matter how spiffy they make 1 car or truck.
Which the car will be bad ass. But odds are it will turn into some old guys 600hp Golf Cart like most Corvettes are anyways.
What I would like to see is the Return of the GMC Cyclone. That was a Vette killer from 1986 until the first Z06 came out. Or maybe it was a Viper that finally beat it for fastest American production vehicle.
I don't know what planet you are from-but almost ALL professional driving courses use CORVETTES as their platform. You haters just don't get it. Best car for the $$. Most reliable SPORTS car for the $$. Cheapest SPORTS car to mod. Corvette sets the standard the others try to beat. When a car gets close,GM gets busy and makes sure the Corvette will remain top dog in its class.

I'll keep that in mind the next time I pass 6 of them in a country club full of the nearly dead grey hairs that pilot them.
They are great cars and actually well built for an American vehicle. Mainly because GM snatches up the non-complainers and anti-Union workers and ship them to the Vette plant and pay them well. But it's probalby safe to say that most people who buy a Corvette will never hit WOT except to jump in front of a motorcycle.
I've never been a fan of them. I'd much prefer a NSX or an Evo 9 if I'm really wanting handling.
