Newest Addition to the Garage!

So i bought a Mini Cooper S today... thing is the most fun i have had on 4 wheels.
Got it with cold weather package cuz itll be nice for Reno winters, and the Sport package with adjustable front suspension and traction control.

Also just a quick note for those who love motorsports of any kind, i test drove many other cars.. heres a quick 1 liner overview for each.
Mazda RX8- drove the auto 4 speed w/ paddle shifters. Engine was a dog, stick or 6 speed auto may be a lot better but suspension felt solid.
Infinity G35- drove the 4 door with traction control and a manual optioned auto- Was OK, engine great but the rest was a little bland.
Cadillac CTS- was 2nd choice behind mini, motor with the 3.6 lacks a bit of power but not much, otherwise its a great car looks, handling, comfort overall.
Subaru WRX- thought the STi would be the only fun one.. no, id lose my license with this motor, it HAULS. handling is good, pretty even withthe mini just different...insurance would be higher. but the motor amazed me for the cars weight and horsepower.. it had a Borla exhaust already on it, sounded deep, not riced out at all and not too loud. EASY first choice is performance was all i wanted. but it had more miles on it and woulda cost more in insurance plus i couldnt baby it so gas mileage woulda suffered.

overall the Mini IS AWESOME. great mileage.. aobut 30 a tank according to oweners.. 28-30 anywyas, handling.. it really does feel like a go cart, little to no understeer which amazed me for a FWD car. the interior is by far the only one not too boring, the ladies love it and its jsut a blast to drive, and wouldnt be too hard to set cruise and just relax where the WRX didnt make that easy. Handling alone sold me though, its amazing.

Gotta love the S. I have the Works pkg on mine and it is a blast. Funny you mentioned the STI, I have one of those as well and your review on it was spot on. The STI is a 06 w/ a STG 3 Cobb tuning pkg on it. I am putting down 434 AWHP

The wife drives the Mini S and my DD is a 08 E 90 M3 Sedan. The STI is just for fun when it rains. It will wear you out pretty quickly but it carves thru heavy freeway traffic like a hot knife thru butter. I traded my EVO 9 MR in on the STI.

Next up on my want list is trading my Triumph Speed Triple in on either the Ducati HypoMotard S or a Can-Am Spyder. The wife is seriously jonesing for the Spyder since a friend of hers brought one over to the house the other day so ... I guess the Duc will lose out.

Vanishing- i drove the WRX regular, not the STi version. The Sti would handle even better.. its well above what the mini will do for cornering ability. But its mileage would also be terrible even compared to the base WRX.

The Spyder- is fun to drive, but it feels like a quad basically... It really cant even be compared to a motorcycle in any way, dont get rid of the 2 wheels for its three....nice to have both, but certainly not worth giving up the bike for the spyder...plus its build quality leaves room for imnprovement... suspension is cheap and the plastics on the body really dont dseem to solid, like a lot would break and leave u paying big $ to replace beroken tabs and things.

Wow, a very diverse list - CTS and Mini. My dream car is now the AMG C63.

if we are talking big money and jsut fun, not the fastest at track.. i'll take the Brabus version of the C class...lol

And ya i was open to anyting fun and good on gas when i was looking. Minis handling and fun interior got me.... and still so glad it did except most BMW products i found out need a BMW socket tool to take off oil filter housing... so gotta wait for it to get to my door and take it for jiffy lube to borrow since they dont have it.
