This is Yifan from University of Notre Dame. I am an industrial design graduate student currently working on the design of a new three-wheel transportation vehicle. The background of this design is the trend found out by a research in 2012 showing that young American population (16 - 34 years old) is shifting away from driving cars to using alternative transportations like walk, bikes, motorcycles and public transportation.
While Four-wheel cars provide us with excessive transportation capabilities sometimes, two-wheel motorcycles do exist as an under-explored area for its debatable safety and utility capabilities. In between, the three-wheel ones have been far more less developed and recently employed for some high-end recreational vehicles. People do need a more-affordable and handy secondary transportation tool aside from driving cars as the only choice.
In order to get more insight and help from us motorcyclists. I do urgently need help and feedback from you guys who are motorcycle veterans, enthusiasts, and even haters.
Below are two links to my surveys, one is for people who have motorcycle-riding experiences, one is for those who don't. Your input will be sincerely and extremely appreciated. And I will be so glad and grateful if you would want to contact me for further information about motorcycles and my design:
They are totally hazard-free, anonymous, and for academic purposes only.
Vehicles have 3 or less wheels are legally defined as motorcycles. And the potential lies in motorcycles, which have more than flexibility, maneuverability, etc. over the cars, is unlimited and honestly trendy in the upcoming shifting of our societal transportation infrastructure.
