Free Credit Report...

If your interested......www.annualcreditreport.com will give you one free credit report annually.

It's good to keep an eye out for identity fraud.

I just found out I lived in Virginia in 1999. and all this time I thought I lived in CA.

YA THINK???

yup that ur gonna want to get cleared off your repot. just had mine checked when i went to the bank to get another loan. lol. hey atleast my credit is great for being 20 and i have no late or missed payments. but that sounds like a good idea to check every year.

on this note, also check ur insurance. i just found out that someone else has a claim for a wreck under my household that never lived here, and im not related to but has the same last name so it makes my insurance higher, dont know how it happened but it had me pissed off.

There was a news report about choicepoint selling hundreds of thousands of peoples info (in CA), and then they were victims of credit fraud.

Oh yeah, buy a house and you get your colon checked with a streetlight!!! If there is anything amiss, it will show. Federal law says you are entitled to one free report each year. Use it, It is strange that they can report something about you that isn't true, but it is your responsibility to prove it, and they aren't responsible if a false item hurts you... How did that happen??

Bee...I know this just too damn well. I had a few things on there that were my ex wifes and it took me 3 almost 4 months to prove it. My name was no where on it. WTF. They will put it on your credit report in a sec but you almost have to jump through fire to get it removed.

Oh yeah this pisses me off!! Some of the credit companies are easier than that... but others just suck!!

Here's the links to the big 3!

Equifax

Experian

Trans Union

You might also want to look into putting a credit fraud alert on your SSN... this will help ya in the long run. Some the companies do it for 6 months, and some a year.

Also, have them remove you from the mailing lists... this will cut down on the "pre-approved" credit card and mortgage junk... cut down...not eliminate!

theft

Yeah I just found out i have a credit card back in Aug of 2003. hmm I was fighting in Iraq in Aug 2003.. I also have 2 cars, 1 in florida, and 1 in cali, excluding the one i have now. I also have 20 different addresses. mostly po boxes. there is one thats close to the one I live in. 361 Perry st, except this one is 61 perry st apt Q which doesnt exist! so yeah.. someone nailed me. Dont know how, but the only thing I can do is dispute it and put an alert on my reports.

Fun Fun
you can also click on the ident theft link and it will tell you everything you need to do to fix it with all 3 companies.
