Insurance at 17???

so im looking into getting a bike. saving up a down payment and going to buy a 2017/2018 Yamaha R6 by this next april. Im trying to figure out how much my insurance would be.

ill be 18 by then

Yamaha R6

live in columbus, Ohio

i have no accidents or tickets

What if i insure it under my dads name? would it be cheaper? any advice would help ( other than telling me to start on a smaller bike or to wait )

I think you should rather join in your father's insurance itself, other than looking for one for yourself. It would be a better and cheaper option. It might help you to insure in addition to all necessary things. Also, be prepared for your insurance within an year or less, in case of any emergency or some other situations.
Still if you want to have insurance of your own than you must have enough knowledge about it, so that you could be ready to proceed. People who own and use motorcycles should never take the risk of not having enough insurance coverage to protect them and other riders.
You must look out for this. Comprehensive motorcycle insurance, third party property damage insurance and veteran, vintage and classic vehicle insurance are the types of insurance from which you have to choose. There are a number of different amounts of coverage you can purchase, based on the budget you have and the amount of protection you want to have for your bike. If you have particular needs, talk to your insurance company go through this recommended site for more information regrading it. Also, look to what the lender will provide you including discounts, rewards and after accident care, which may be add-ons in some situations. Some will provide you with lifetime guarantees on repairs as well.
Hope this helps you..
